I also heard that date from a representative of DT, Daniel Mellado of the Oct. 13th date however he said with respect to my wedding (guests scheduled to arrive Nov 1st for a Nov 5th wedding), that if it's not reopened by Oct. 20th, to contact him then. That doesn't sound super positive to me... sad.gif

I guess the silver lining is that included among my 20 guests, there are NO children. So I can stay at the Secrets Silver Sands, but I wonder if they'd let us re-book to Secrets Maroma Beach as I heard that location is nicer.

Anyone know that?

Girls, no matter what happens, I know everything will work out for your guys who still don't know about DT. I am leaving for Paradisus Riviera Cancun tomorrow morning, and I'm excited about it! Trish has texted me and told me that it was really nice. We have had a lot of obstacles in our way this week, but I just try to keep a positive attitude about everything, and I know it will all work out. I wish the best for all of you and I will tell you about it all when I return!!

I say you put your foot down and tell them if it absolutely can't be Dreams Tulum the only other place you will go is Secrets Maroma. It's the least they can do! Plus, you're right, Secrets Maroma looks much better than the silversands. Give them as hard a time as they are giving us, and don't take no for an answer!!!!!
You're lucky...I have 8 kids coming to my wedding so my options are limited!!!

Wow, I am so happy for Trish and Brooke! It's good that they have each other for support!

So it seems that no one know the actual re-opening of the resort...we all seem to be getting different answers. That is what worries me the most.

I emailed Landy yesterday asking for an update...we will see what she says. I also looked in the newspapers and nothing new since they posted the initial closure....

I have a bunch of kids coming to mine too so I guess our only option is Dreams Cancun if they don't re-open. I just want to know where the heck I'm getting married and and what will change. This is really frustrating. I just hope it all works out, whatever happens.

argh!!!!! I am getting super nervous now!

FH assured me that this was a temporary glitch and that they would be up and running soon. But now Im starting to loose hope! Im trying my very hardest to have faith though...

I dont have the heart to tell any of my guests yet either!

Im going to cross my fingers and hope that everything works out in the end...

Mel88- try and contact this guy kwojciechowski@amresorts.com

(I'm guessing on the email address based on one I received from Gonzalo)

I don't think Landy can figure out logistics with relocating guests.

Don't be afraid to put the pressure on either. The resort stands to make a lot of money from you with your guests reservations as well as the wedding.

I'm gonna wait and see what happens on the 13th and then jump right into panic mode.

Let us know what you hear darlin' and hang in there smile03.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
