Hi all.

I am getting married at ROR on 2nd feb 2009, we are there from 27th jan till 10th feb. I am just wondering how long do the photos take, I am having a reception when I get home and would like to know if the photos are normally ready before you leave or do they send them on? I would love to show my photos at our home reception. The same also with the dvd.

Many Thanks

I remember a few ROR brides saying that you get to review your pics the day after your wedding & I guess depending on how many you pick, you may be able to get the disc before you leave.

If you do a search of ROR wedding reviews, you can look at the posts of the past ROR brides who used Michael. Some were able to get their discs before they left & some had them mailed home.

In terms of the video, we got our DVD the day after the wedding.

Since your wedding is on the 2nd & you're not leaving till the 10th, I'd think that you're ok & should be able to take your disc home.

You can always email Michael & ask him what his turn around time is.

This has been a hot topic for the ROR brides. Initially it was said that you did not have to use the resort photographer & that you could bring in an outside photographer, but they have to be a guest of yours & stay at the resort. If they do not stay at the resort, then they have to have a day pass. Since then, some ROR brides have had problems with bringing outside photographers.

If this is something that you are thinking about doing, I strongly suggest that you ask Chandlyn, or the Director of Wedding Sales, what their policy is regarding using an outside photographer. If they advise you that you can have an outside photographer, then make sure to keep that email for future refernce and in case you have any problems when you arrive.

Yes, I believe they are edited before you go look at them.
I remember past brides said that if there was something in the picture that they wanted taken out, Michael would edit the picture.

I don't think any other photographers have had a problem except for the one that many of us shared. I think she encountered difficulties because she had done about 4 weddings there in a 2 week span.

If you really want to have your own photographer, just make sure that you get their policy in writing. I definitely do not want to deter you, but just want to make sure that you are well informed. ROR was a wonderful resort & we had an amazing time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
