Lisa, we want pictures!

Our shower was good...we had a co-ed one with a fishing thing. It was so cute. My BFF who is a wedding planner/event coordinator planned it along with my mom, so it was smooth sailing. We got everything we needed. The only thing that we didn't get was the play mat, but we have a GC to Babies R Us that we are going to use to buy it.

We got so many more clothes even though I told everyone no clothes. :) I don't think he will be able to wear all of them. sad.gif Oh my gosh, we have so many blankets, towels, and washcloths! We have like 11 blankets (not including the 3 quilts his grandmothers have made for him), 2 robes, 12 hooded towels, and litrally like 30 washcloths! We are going to return a package of 12 washcloths and get something little that we can use. Or do you think that is a good amount (I am with you on this one, Lisa).

I also changed my playtex bottles on the registry for the Dr. Brown's Air Vent ones...but they aren't BPA free, but I really like the little vent thingy, so what to do? Blah. Decisions! I could get the BPA free ones, but then they wouldn't have the air vent...unless there is some that I haven't seen that have the air vent and BPA free? I need to look again.

We finished painting the room this weekend and put all his stuff away. Now, Jay just needs to do the mural and put all the big items together (bassinet, stroller, stuff like that).

We are having storage issues also, Lisa! His dresser has a door on the side with 2 shelves in it, and for now we have blankets, towels, wash cloths in there along with diaper changing stuff, finger nail clippers, combs, stuff like that. We are going to buy a little 3 shelf book case to put all his books (he has like 10 books already), picture frames and probably move the blankets to it also....we really don't have much room.

I will post pictures from the shower as soon as I can find my camera cord. I haven't seen it since we moved!

Lisa & Martha - I'm so glad your showers went well and you both got so much stuff. I can't wait to see PICS!

We haven't started the nursery yet and it's starting to worry me because I just want to get it done. We just moved into our house in January and we want to get a lot done (mostly cosmetic stuff) before the baby gets here. Mike started on the living room about a month ago and is about halfway done. It sucks b/c he really only has time to work on it on the weekends and we always seem to have something planned. Hopefully it will be done soon and then he can start on the nursery. He refuses to let me paint (even though I've read that it's not bad for the baby), so I can't even do any of it. I picked out the furniture and bedding and am now just waiting to order it.

I'm excited b/c I found both the swing and bouncer that I was planning to register for on Craig's List and am going to pick them up tonight. I got the Fisher Price Twilight Papasan Cradle Swing for $80 (retails for $160) and the Rainforest Bouncer Seat for $15 (retails for $55) and both sound like they're in great shape!

Hi Girls.

Lisa and Martha - Glad your showers went well. You guys are lucky that you got most of the stuff you need. We decided not to have a shower since this is technically our third child. But since they are both 6 and they were both boys we had NOTHING. So we had to buy everything from scratch. Luckily we are all done now but we spent a LOT of time in Babies R Us the past few months. We officially finished this weekend. Now Steve just has to put stuff together. (Bassinet, Swing, Pack and Play and Stroller) Fun!! And Yes, I think you guys have more than enough wash clothes!

Mo- It sounds like Tim is super handy. That is great! Steve trys to tinker with stuff, but it takes him forever to finish one project.

Lizz- That is great that you found goodies on craigslist, I LOVE craigslist. I know how you feel about wanting to get the nursery done. We didn't start until after we got back from the wedding and that was torture for me.

Austin LOVES the Rainforest bouncer! The music and lights are great, and now that he's reaching for things, he loves to spin the bird!

We got the rainforest bouncer and swing. Can't wait to put them together!

Last night, I came out of the restroom and the nursery room door was open and the light was on. I went in there and Jay was in there just staring at the crib. I was like "what's wrong?" And he just smiled and said nothing. I said "it's weird, right?" And he was like "ya, it's crazy." This is just so shocking to us still because we never thought we would have a baby.

Oh! Let me give you guys an idea. My mom bought fabric and fabric markers for the shower. She cut the fabric into squares so that each person at the shower got a square. Everyone either wrote something and/or drew something on the fabric for Noah and she is going to make it into a quilt! Such a cute idea! We also decorated onesies, bibs, and hats instead of playing games. We were at a restaurant and didn't think games would be appropriate.

Martha- Awww.. That is so sweet that Jay was in the nursery. I Love that idea for the quilt. That is really creative. Can you believe you will be full term in 3 WEEKS? I know I'm only a week behind you, but I'd love to be at 34 weeks now. LOL. I'm getting very, very, anxious to meet her.

That's great news! I heard good things about it and when I saw it was $15, I couldn't pass up buying it.

So, I am kind of freaking out. I am 7 days late on my period...I took a pregnancy test yesterday and it came back positive...just to be sure I took two more (ANSWER, with the lines), well there is definintely 1 line (not pregnant) but also a very, very, very faint 2nd line....(both times) -so I just don't know what this means.

We wanted to start trying to have the baby right after the wedding...as i'm turning 40 next week - so it is not a bad thing necessarily if we found out now - but of course, it wasn't really planned on, and i'm worried about my dress fitting, not looking pretty in the photo's, and being sick ....i'm sure all the usual things that anyone in this case worries about - righthuh.gif??

Yay, let me go ahead and Congratulate you now!!! From my personal experience even super, super faint lines are positives! Some tests just have less dye in them than others. Answer and First Response are notorious for having faint lines early on. I didn't get a dark line with them until around 6 weeks.

Don't be freaked out or scared. This is really great news! I was in your exact same position and was worried when I found out. I found out I was pregnant in February and got married in July. I still wore the dress I bought pre-pregnancy (altered of course), a lot of people said they couldn't even tell I was in the pictures, and all of my morning sickness was gone by then.

I wouldn't change the way it worked out for anything. I married the man that I love and get to have his baby in the same year! :-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
