Grand Palladium brides!!!

I received an e-mail from Charmaine (the second) with the menu that goes along with the Caribbean package - but cannot for the life of me get the bloody thing to open!

Has anyone received it? And if so, could you possibly post it! I'm dying to see what the options are and though I've e-mailed Charmaine about the problem again, I thought someone here at BDW might already have it!

Thanks!

I've asked, via e-mail (about switching items from each menu) and so far, haven't heard anything. I'm liking the Caribbean menu too, but like elements of the gourmet menu too!

Not everyone eats fish, a beef dish is a must (and NOT in the form of veal!) and lamb?! Gack!

I hope they'll modify it for us - or we may have some problems.

Will let you know if and when I hear something.

Petals,

Any idea of wedding decor? I know that they have white linen and white seat covers (correct me if I'm wrong) Are you going to bring table decorations/candles/etc down there with you?

I asked about it too so I'll let you know if I hear anything on my end.

Yeah, I really hope we can do a little bit of mixing and matching. When I was down there Charmaine mentioned the option of "creating your own" menu but also said that it would likely be more expensive than what's included in the package.

Everything looks really good but I think my guests would be just as happy (or happier) with a traditional Jamaican meal as Grilled Veal Entrecote. cheers.gif

She said it's just white linens-- I didn't hear anything about white seatcovers at the reception but the chairs are nice dark wood so I didn't mind that.

Additional colors of linens are available at an extra charge through the florist. They offer floral centerpieces starting around $70/table.

Right now I'm thinking that I might just bring table runners for a splash of color, and inexpensive centerpieces from home.

(Drawing from inspirations from all of the DIY'ers!)

Have you decided on your reception location yet? I have been thinking about how best to set everything up. At Blue Lagoon you could do a table with the bridal party facing in and the sunset at their back... hmmm...

I don't know yet about the location. In the e-mail, I had questions about where the after-dinner reception would be? At the same place as the meal? Are you going w/a DJ or band, or what?

I realise the Poseidon has a 2 hour limit - though that would probably do for dinner... but the decor is not as nice there (to mean, those striped chairs, etc)

What is the fee for choosing one of the other restaurants? And is there a time limit on that? Is that the same place that the rest of the festivities would be held?

I still have loads of questions and time is ticking on! It's hard to make decisions when I haven't seen it first hand, so I shall be relying on you in the coming weeks! wink.gif

I was going to do it at the same place as the meal since we chose Blue Lagoon and it's pretty big. I'm planning on the DJ unless some kind soul wants to pay for the band for us. lol

We'll all probably end up at the disco afterwards for those who want to make it a late night.

I think Poseidon looks little more casual but would probably be really lovely in the evening with the white linens and such. The striped chair cushions look removable- I wonder if they ever switch them out...

It's $300 to switch venues, and according to Charmaine, you can have the Blue Lagoon for 3 hours instead of the 2 at Poseidon. Plus, no music at Poseidon!

In the meantime, here's a closer look at the tables and chairs (and the juciest mango I've ever tasted) at Blue Lagoon:

No problem! Your wedding is 5 months before mine so I'll be relying on you when you get back!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
