Even if it's not a typical spring breaker (party) hotel, I do think you are right that there will be more people there than usual. But April should be good, I think May you will have a tough time getting a date, there are so many weddings booked already for May.

I got married April 1 and had no trouble getting that day with only 3 months notice. The last week of March and first week of April were very open. When I got there Landy told me busy season started early/mid April. So you may want to try very early April. But avoid Easter (not sure when it falls next year...) because travel will be expensive and the resort will be full.

I know. It's looking like we are going to have to do March. I just hope it's not crowded with tons of people for Spring Break! Any pros and cons for a Friday vs. Saturday wedding? Most of my friends and family will stay through Sunday, then FH and I will head to another resort for honeymoon.

Most of my guests that will be attending will need to take minimal time off work, so I'll have to have the wedding on a Sat or Sun, which is limiting the availability already. It's looking like it's going to be March for sure, now, so...worried about the crowds, etc. Also, Lizette says you can't lock down a reception locale until you get there!!

In my last email with Lizette she said that you can pick your location about a month before your wedding date-it is kind of annoying because there is another bride that day (at least for me) and I would love to be able to do it-also the invitations would be helpful

Hello everyone! I'm getting married at Tulum as well cheer2.gif

It's during Spring Break...March 17, 2009. I was reassured that I wouldn't have to deal with the "spring break" crowd though!

I'm so excited! I've been doing a lot of my research from everyone's posts here and have read some very helpful information...so "THANK YOU" (in advance)!

Yes, at first Lizette told me that there was only a 2pm time open for that date and then I argued the fact that the website states there must be a deposit to "hold" that date (and the 5pm reservation did not have a deposit in place).
Well, long story-short, she argued with me about the no-deposit "rule", laughed IN my face when I asked to talk to her manager (b/c I called down there), and then my fiancee became involved and we got what we wanted (b/c he's more ruthless than I am).
Needless to say, I don't deal with Lizette anymore and I got my sunset wedding time!
Now I'm worried about photo's (being that my wedding time is sunset), but then I learned about the "Trash the Dress" photo-shoot! Please excuse me as I'm new to all this and have never heard of that before!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
