I was just wondering if anyone has been getting emails back from Landy lately. She hasn't returned any of mine in almost a month and needless to say I'm getting a little worried. I have to have some details confirmed with her so I can get the information to be printed for menus, programs, ect. Has anyone tried calling them before? Does it help to get answers or no? I have to admit that we are starting to regret our decision of choosing Dreams Tulum. So far we have found the wedding coordinators to be unhelpful. I imagine they must be very busy ladies, but as I am leaving to go on vacation for a couple of weeks before the wedding I only have about a month to finish all the planning. Any suggestions??

Also, here is my info, I dont think I gave it when I first joined.

Username: Mono Amor

Names (optional, first names only): Leanne

Date & Time: November 13, 2008, 4:00

Wedding package: Ultimate

Wedding extras (and cost charged): Bonfire Afterparty ($40), Firedancers ($250 for 15 mins), Pinata ($40)...so far

Type of ceremony: Religious

Coordinator: Landy

Number of guests: 35 confirmed, more RSVPs to come

Ceremony location: Chapel, but since we have about 40 guests we may have to switch to the front staircase location (not as private)

Reception location: Ballroom

Photographer: Resort

Videographer: Resort

Special arrangements / activities: Deep-sea fishing (guys outing), Playa del Carmen (girls shopping trip), trip to Cancun for bachelor/bachlorette parties.

Lastly, does anyone have any good pictures of the smaller ballrooms? Im just trying to get an idea of what Im working with.

Thanks!!!!!!

Hi,

Landy has been a little hard to get a hold of lately, I agree. Her last email reply took about 9 days. But with the advice from all the gals here, I know that a lot of decisions will be made when I get there and I will just go with the flow.

You should send another email, let her know you are going on vacation and then ask her to set up a phone conference with you. It is usually more helpful to just speak to her in person.

Good Luck!

I would suggest you try emailing Lizette, as many brides have posted lately that Lizette answers much quicker. Also I would try calling. you may have to try over and over again (if you leave a message, I highly doubt they will call you back) until you reach them

We will be arriving on the 10th and staying 7 nights. It sounds like there will be a couple of us there in that time period. Its exciting! I have to admit that finding this forum has been the most comforting thing that could have happened! Thanks for all the advice!

I think you should definitely call. I'm getting married several weeks after you and I have yet to recieve ONE email from Landy. She hasn't responded to ANY OF MY EMAILS. So I get how frustrating you are. BUT, and it's a big but, everyone who has gotten married there before says the WC always come through in the end. That is what I'm banking on.

Definitely call. Good luck!

Hello Ladies,

Welcome Mano Amor! I understand how frustrated you are. It's difficult enough planning a wedding, and planning a wedding away can be exhausting. A few months ago I had trouble getting a response from Landy as well. I was really upset because I was trying to confirm my date in order to have my invites made. Anyway, I e-mailed her and in the subject line typed "Please RESPOND." The next day Sandra, the previous WC who now works in sales, and Lizet e-mailed me answers to my questions. If I were you I would see if you could contact Lizet or Sandra via phone and e-mail.

Hey SunBride! I have an opinion question for you =)

I reserved the ballroom in the convention center for my reception and i was wondering how big that room is... we have about 30 people booked right now and we're expecting around 50. I definately don't want the room to look too big for our party. Will a party of 50 be lost in there?

Excellent job, by the way, on your review. You are absolutely beautiful and so are your pictures. Thank you so much for helping our all us bride-to-be's and answering all these questions; it is so much appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
