HELP!!!Secrets Capri of Riu Palace Riviera Maya

Hey everybody,

 

We could really use some advice because we cannot seem to pick between the two beautiful resorts. We love the Riu because the resort is amazing and the location is perfect right in the heart of playa del carmen but the wedding reception isn't private and you have to rent out the disco for $1170 to have dancing. Now we also really love Secrets Capri because it's a smaller more intimate atmosphere and it seems like a really romantic place to get married and they also have a great wedding package and we could have a private reception on the terrace and also our dancing which is perfect and that is what we want.

 

Now the trouble is it seems like to us anyways that the Riu is a more beautiful and luxurious resort and that our guests would have a better time if we stayed there. On the other hand if we stayed at Secrets Capri then we would have the perfect wedding but the guests wouldn't have as good of a time. Now we haven't been to either resort which makes this decision so difficult and we can't afford a site visit so any information you could give us would be much appreciated.

Both resorts sound great to me. We picked RPRM because they allow kids. I had no choice since I want my little niece to be the flower girl. If kids are no issie to you, go with the one you really like. Your guests will have a great time no matter what. You cant really loose with either one.

We chose Secrets Capri because of the intimate & romantic feel. We will be honeymooning at the same resort so we opted for the Adults-Only choice. I've been working with the WC of Secrets and they seem to be very accomodating as in making sure that there's a lot for our guests to do while there.

 

Good luck & I'm sure that whichever you choose will be just perfect!smile03.gif

I'll have to agree with the other girls...go with the one you like. We are getting married at the RIU Palace Riviera Maya, because we had friends who got married at the RIU Palace Mexico, and loved it. I just went online and looked at the RIU properties and chose the Palace Riviera Maya because it looked so beautiful. I think you just have to go with your heart/gut feeling on this, and then don't look back. It's your wedding!!! It will be wonderful at either place!!!!

Just got married at Secrets Capri on 8/16/08 and it was AMAZING!!!! I know it's hard to find info on the place and see pictures. If you have any specific questions, feel free to send me a message. I'd be happy to share our experience and/or any pictures.

Congratulations!!! Where did you decide to have your ceremony, cocktail hr, and reception at on the resort? I want to have everything right there on the beach, but am a little concern about the space and the turn around between each event. I'm really excited about getting married at Secrets, but it seems that the closer the wedding date comes the more details that seem to slip through Alejandra's fingers. Maybe it's just the bridezilla coming out.girl_werewolf.gif

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
