Does anyone have any cute ideas on wedding favors? I'm thinking of giving out Christmas ornaments. In my mind I picture like a seashell or sand dollar ornament with Cabo, MX and the date on it. I just can't find anything I really like. So I'm just curious as to what some of you are giving out as favors.

Good luck to everyone on their planning!

  • 3 weeks later...

Hi everyone...things have been quiet on this thread lately - is everyone super busy wedding planning? We are getting our rsvp's back, which is exciting. My next project is to work on an informational brochure, that I will send to everyone (along with luggage tags) about 6 weeks prior to the wedding. If anyone has a template for this, or has done one, please let me know. Would love to hear from you all, on how everythng is going.

I know! We're not a very vocal bunch smile27.gif LOL!

Time to friday.gif

I've been having a hellish few weeks at work and my bf who lives out west - her father just got really really sick last week, she flew in to town and he just passed away last night sad.gif So it's been a bit of a rollercoaster.

I haven't done much but work and sleep and cry lately... BUT I've been getting lots of wedding related materials in the mail, which has been good!

I have gotten delivered or bought

1) My totally adorable Hawaiian luggage tags (I'll take a pic or two later and edit this post)

2) my OOT bags, from OTC :) They're a lot flimsier than I thought they'd be, but they were like 89c, so get what you pay for ha!

3) some nice frames (double frames) for a gift for the parents (I'm going to put a baby picture of me/FI on the one side and one of us togethr on the other and give them to our parents

4) some really cute little beachy anklets for my sisters and me

5) cheapo tanks for all three of us and iron-on rhinestone letters... my next DIY project

Ohand I bought a sewing machine so who knows what I'll get up to in the next few weeks :)

Tomorrow I"m going to call the bridal salon and see when my dress is due in.

I also finally emailed my WC to ask her a few pressing questions about what the table set up is like and if they have a microphone for the ceremony on the beach.

You sound like ou have everything under control! Mind you, when I look at my future SIL (who is getting married to FI's brother in October), I look reeeeaaally ahead of the game wink.gif

Kevsgirl- I'm so sorry to hear about your situation with your friend. Thoughts and prayers coming your way!

I agree- this thread has been QUIET. I am feeling a bit stressed. We are making passport invites and still haven't gotten them done. I think we are going to have to stay home this holiday weekend to get them done. This past weekend I ordered my veil and bought sand ceremony stuff but that was it. I need to get on the horn to still do the following:

- purchase garter, guys' shirts, custom cups, custom shot glasses, attendant and parent gifts, tulle for gazebo, paper lanterns. And i still need to make DIY: invites, iron on OOT bags, welcome letters, menu, program, placecards, photoshare cards. And I'm sure a million other things. 3 1/2 months. YIPES!

Oh dear... do you have any help from friends or family for some of those things? Is there anything you can just buy ready-made?
The time is really flying by. I agree, I'm feeling the pressure too...

I feel kind of annoyed that I'm not going to do much in terms of decorating the tables. I think I'll just stick with the white linens they provide. I'm hoping that the little gift boxes will gve some colour (and our flowers that we bring in from the beach).
Some of the gift shopping I've done just browsing around town, and that's so much easier for me because I find that the shipping in from the US is killing the budget sad.gif

Well, good luck and let's get this thread going. We need somewhere to vent where people understand./
I wonder if we should have merged Dec and Jan. THere aren't that many of us!

Today is the 100 day mark for me and time is really flying! This weekend is 1 year we have been engaged and I can't beleive it, thank god I pushed the wedding date farther than 1 year, never could have done everything in time. My invites came in going to address them this weekend. Got at least another month for my dress to come in. The past week I have been trying to clean out closets in my house cause my shower is in a week and a half and people have been sending me gifts already. Now I have to make some room! I need a vacation...

This thread has been quiet, but I know for me it's been because life (outside of the wedding) has been keeping me extremely busy. Kevsgirl...I'll keep you in my prayers as well!

I've currently been dealing w/ a mysterious infection (in addition to a severe sprained ankle) only to find out that I'm allergic to the antibiotic that I was given...so now I'm battling a severe chemical reaction to penicillin; which I had no clue I was allergic to. So I have been in & out of the doctor's office trying to pinpoint the problem. Initially, the ER doc said that it was just a food allergy, but the rash, itching, & was much more aggressive than anything I have ever experienced before. Keep in mind that the only thing I'm allergic to is pineapple, and I've been relatively healthy up until these recent months.

With all of this other stuff going on, I have given my DIY invites to my wedding planner for her to finish up and mail by tomorrow. She's had them for over a week so I'm not sure why they haven't been sent out already. I had printed everything out, scored ticket sleeves, and printed the labels so basically all she had to do was assemble them and place in the mail. I'm anxious to see what the RSVP count is going to be. I still have to design our custom mugs, print menus, programs, favor tags, order favors, get fiance's suit tailored, among another million things. And I will be leaving town tomorrow after doing my BD session to spend Labor Day weekend with his family on the East coast....101 days to go & I'm really starting to feel the pressure.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
