Christa again I love your dress!

Alright Girls, This is the best picture I could find that almost looks like my dress. Here are differences!

1- where everything pulls together to one side there is a broach.

2-there is no where near that much fabric in the back of the dress

3-it actually comes up a little bit higher in the middle of the top. It's more rounded than straight across!

But for the most part it really does look almost like my dress!

Now the picture isn't great because I tore it out of a magazine and scanned it!

So Jessalyn, I just could NOT resist, and went to try on your dress, and I LOVED IT!

BUT, I wanted to know because I was trying dresses on, and I felt fine, and when I put yours on, suddenly I was BOILING hot. And, the fabric is really thick. Are you worried at all about being too hot? Or just not worrying about it because the dress is so gorgeous? Or did you somehow take the thick hot layer out? Just wondering!

And Tammy - no, not allowed pictures, but these are the ones I liked best (the top one being Jessalyn's, I hope this doesn't make you mad, like I'm copying you!).

So I was checking out some of Sol Tamargo's since she just sent out an email about her recent awards w/the WPJA ([AG]WPJA: Artistic Wedding Photojournalism : Fine Art Wedding Photography). I noticed that one of the girls in a winning photo was wearing my dress! Why this is exciting, I don't know. But it is. So I asked her if I could see the whole wedding - and she sent me the link to the slide show. Here's my dress of a very beautiful bride! I just hope I can pull it off half as well as she did! She had a Christian and Hindu wedding, and she changes dresses at some point in the evening.

So, while I am patiently awaiting the picture of my dress from China to see if it'll work so I can pick flowers, colors, etc, I am also shopping for a reception dress. Since my wedding is at 10:00 a.m., I want a different, way more casual dress (short) to wear to the reception.

And while I haven't fallen in love with any dress I've found so far (including the one I picked to wear to my wedding), I went shopping this weekend and TOTALLY fell in love with this Richmond dress I found. It is so crazy because it basically looks like a swimsuit coverup (gauzy tunic with plunging neckline and tie between the boobs) with lots of silver beads all over. It's so the opposite of what I was thinking, but I can't get my mind off of it. Of course it was $528, which is 3X what I'm spending on my actual wedding dress and way exorbitant seeing as you can fold it up into the size of a handkerchief.

Anyone else seen any similar dresses (with a dropped waist) at a more palatable price? Remember, I am FRUGAL BRIDE.

Thanks!

Laura

P.S. This is similar:

Here's THE dress.. I felt beautiful in it and didn't worry about it being too fancy because of the plain bottom in front and the bustle but I didn't order it because I wanted to see if I could find it cheaper (which I did). Anyhow I'm 98% sure I'm ordering this tomorrow. Do you think a lace up back would work? I'm worried it will take away from the back, but I like how they make a dress feel secure.

I'm so excited!!!!! My dress came today!!!! So its not any of the dresses I posted before, I never even tried it on until today, and I love, love, love, it, I didn't want to take it off. And what makes me even happier is that I got such a sweet deal on it. I got it on ebay, from a bridal salon, it was a sample, it retails for around $1000, I paid, $225 including shipping. So excited!!! I couldn't take pics of me in it, FI is here, so I had to try it quick before he interupted. I got it in ivory, its lighter than it looks in the picture. The biggest picture is the dress and I also posted the link to it, so you can see it up closer. Let me know what you think.

P.S. Angela, I love lace up backs to, thats what I got, and they suck you in so good, but I do think it might take away from the back of yours because they'd have to cut out some of the detail. But whatever make you feel comfy!

okay, pic didn't work, but in the link its the largest picture shown, and you can click it to enlarge and see the back up close

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
