Because we film weddings we've seen both the Cosmic and the Mayan ceremonies. The Mayan ceremonies are cool but sometimes a little hard to relate to. The Cosmic Ceremony is easier to connect to. Don't be put off by the silly name.

I am so excited to hear and see how wonderful your wedding ceremony was ~ your pics by the way are beautiful!! cheers.gif

Charlie and Maria are actually performing our Cosmic wedding ceremony next June in Akumal. We were hesitant at first out of fear that our guests would be expecting something more traditional and find it too strange, but our wedding coordinator explained to us how family-oriented, touching and spiritual the ceremony can be. It's also great that we will be able to incorporate the local culture and traditions, while still doing the regular procession entry and exchange vows at the end of the ceremony ~ I am so looking forward to the whole experience!! :)

Thank you so much for posting!! hug2.gif This is exactly what we want to do too. We want to do traditional vows (don't want to memorize or make up own) and a celtic handfasting with the exchange of rings.

In the description of the ceremony it says:
Quote:
Later, the couple communicates to each other whatever comes from their hearts, or whatever words they have previously prepared. If they like, this is the time to exchange rings as symbols of the union.

The group gives thanks to all the directions, and with kisses, hugs, and applause finish the ceremony.
How are you going to add it to the end? Are going to skip the last part where you give thanks to all directions? If not how are you ending the ceremony and will Maria still be officiating at that point?

One more question, are you getting an English translator? I am curious as to how the guests who don't speak Spanish know what to do for the circle and "offer a message, a song, or a poem to the couple." portions of the ceremony.

Sorry so many questions but I am SOOO excited. Carla wink.gif

Hello, hello!

My fiance and I have decided to also do the Cosmic Ceremony by Charlie and Maria. Question: Are you going through a wedding coordinator or are you dealing with them directly?

I have contacted a wedding coordinator about the ceremony and reception. However, I have contacted the location of where we are having our receptiona nd dealing with the restaurant directly so that negates needing a wedding coordinator for our reception. I'm thinking that I may be able to pull of not needing a wedding coordinator, but don't know how to contact Charlie and Maria directly. Any information you or anyone else might have will be most appreciated!!!!

Thank you so much! That was my exact fear that it would be a awkward translation. You should be a mind reader. wink.gif

Hi April! Well, we are actually dealing with a wedding coordinator in Akumal who uses Charlie and Maria for a majority of the weddings. I can certainly ask her if she has a contact number for Charlie and Maria, and let you know what she says.

Where are you having your ceremony and reception? If you are able to handle everything without the help of a coordinator, then that's fantastic and helps out with costs so much!! :) I have a friend (who also didn't have a WC) have a close friend, who wasn't in the wedding party, help her out by acting as the WC the day of. Are you having someone do this for you too? It's def. a good idea so you won't have to stress about anything ~ it's your day and instead you can just plan on looking beautiful and soaking in every moment :)

By the way I LOVE your dress in your siggy pic, it's gorgeous ~ cheer2.gif

Thank you for the dress compliment!

I have decided to go with Yazmin De La Mora as my wedding coordinator; she is the most feasible and has been the most professional, and extremely organized! She too works with Charlie and Maria-bonus!

The ceremony will be on a private beach in Playacar - similiar to Sol Tomorgo and Matt Adcock's wedding. The reception will be held at Casa del Agua restaurant in Playa del Carmen.

I agree that I do not want to stress on my wedding day - too much going on!

I know just what wedding your talking about, Tals and Someone's.... I already have implimented their "All White Wedding Idea" I thought it looked sooooo amazing. I loved it. I really want the cosmic wedding but the FI wants traditional.

Does your FI want one? If so you will have to let me know how you got him to do that.

Also my secondary color is purple...Will look hot with the all white. I booked Del Sol as well. We will have to chat!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
