I didn't get legally married in Cancun, I did it at my home town which is also in Mexico. I went to a laboratory to have the blood test done, it was done by a professional, I think they will do the same there, you have to go to a laboratory and then show the results to the judge..

I actually heard back from Josefina and she's going to hold June 26th for us!! I'd much rather change the date and keep the same time. I don't want to feel rushed to have to leave my wedding site for someone else. Less stress this way. I'm still looking into a few other hotels just incase someone else beats me to the 26th by signing a contract.
Where are you having your cocktail hour? Reception?

Hi ladies,

This looks like such a beautiful resort! Nick & I are narrowing down our options and this place looks amazing! (and seems pretty affordable compared to Moon Palace and some of the other resorts). Maybe you guys can answer a few questions for me, since I am waiting for the WC to respond.....

- Is this an all-inclusive hotel or no? (I am trying to figure out if the price I was quoted is all-inclusive or not!)

- Anyone know who the resort wedding photographer is? I see del Sol Photography gets credit for all of the photos on the brochure and that would be AWESOME!!!!!

- When do you have to pay for your wedding package?

Thanks,

Ev

Here is what I know:

-Casamagna is not an all-inclusive resort.

-I don't believe that they have a resort wedding photographer, but I am sure they can recommend someone (although I could be wrong here!)

-To pay for the wedding package, you have to put a 10% non-refundable deposit down to hold your date. Then it's 50% of remaining balance 4 months prior, and then 100% 30 days prior. That is what is in our contract.

Good luck in your search!

TY for the info! I have been scouring the internet all day and found out that CasaMagna DOES have an AI option but it pretty much doubles the price of the room..... I'm not really sure if we'd go that route since there are so many great restaurants in Cancun.

I will have to ask Josefina if they have a photographer... they have photography packages on their carte of services list ranging from $1,000-$2,000.

And thanks for the info on the deposit! :) I can't wait to hear back from Josefina!

I had a site visit in Septmeber, and I asked about the photographer they use in their packages. It is Jose Gallardo.

BTW, Josefina is awesome. She is easy to work with and very responsive. If you haven't been to the hotels, they are beautiful. Casa Magna is at the top of our list.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
