I need VEIL help! LOL

Recommended Posts

Hello Hello!

So...I found THE dress and am completely in love with it...

I wasn't going to have a veil...until I tried one on, and my mom just...loved it. I am completely undecided (I don't even think I am equipped with enough girly intuition to make such a decision) about - what KIND of veil to get!

The salesperson that helped me, said I could special order my veil at my first fitting, in December.

Should I go with a matching veil - scalloped edging, lace, beading?

Should I go with a simple veil - maybe with some rhinestones/beading?

One tier? two tiers? what cut? what...length?! haha...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think the lovliness of the dress really speaks for itself, and I don't want to take away from the dress...but...I also really want to...accentuate all the great things about it...

I have no idea what I'm doing!

I don't think you need a veil, unless you just want one. The dress is beautiful as it is. You could just do a hair flower or sparkly clip or something. What does the back of the dress look like?

If you do want to so with a veil, you might consider a long, single tier, that kind of makes a train...

Be sure to check out the vendor that Ann and Maura and lots of the other girls have used. Occancy? I think? They are MUCH cheaper than the ones in the boutiques. (But still try them on for inspiration!)

Seeing how much my mom loved it...I do kinda just want one...even if its just to wear for photos....plus, it helps to camoflauge my arms (which aren't tip top yet)!

The back of the dress has a coset back (I have a picture here, but its only PDF as I do not have access to my photobucket account at work)!, with the tiers (obviously). It also has a train...a small one, but its there! I think I should go with a veil that goes to my elbow...no longer...but I have no idea if, like the veil I'm wearing in the picture, it should have one tier, two tiers...lace or beading or nothing...

I wish I was more...fashionable. LOL

I would go with a shorter viel that stays more in the back, may from your shoulders backward. When it comes all the way around it hides some of the beautiful dress.

There is alway the do it yourself. It is SOOOO easy! and much more affordable than the bridal stores. All you really need is the glue gun, comb, lace and tulle.

I am actually going to take my FMIL veil (which contains a piece of my FI grandmothers veil) and redo it with a different comb in a different layering method.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
