btw, I'm so plastic phobic that I use a stainless water bottle everyday that I fill with water from my reverse osmosis tap.....yes, some would say I'm a freak! lol
You MUST be my twin! Yes wool is fire retardent. I like the wrapping but they wrap in plastic!smile105.gif But its cheaper than a natural mattress. Which is why I probably will use the happy hangup for the first year. And then convert to a crib.

I also love stainless steel. I don't use plastic cups either. EW. Kleen Kanteen has stainless steel sippy cups. If you haven't found those yet. I LOVE Them and they just came out with new colors!

Not everyone likes the HH. It's very similar to a sling it you're going to babywear. I love it though.

I drink out of plastic water bottles everyday. There. I said it. :)

Mo, I am glad you are feeling better! I hope you get to eat lots of yummy boardwalk food!

Lisa, I am going to check out that mattress. You said you ordered your furniture from JCP, right? Do you like it? Is it good solid wood?

I think we are just going to stick to the Playtex drop-ins also, Lisa. Or maybe the Dr. Browns, not sure yet.

I am glad you posted that link to the breast pump. I am racking my brain trying to figure out which to get. AND....Jay got a really good job offer, so I may be a SAHM for a year! We'll see how it all pans out...but I may not have to use a breast pump at all! Unless we go away for a few days sometime and leave Noah with my parents or something. Still might be good to have, just in case!

That's o.k. - I drink out of plastic water bottles everyday too :)

Martha - I did get my furniture and mattress at JCP. The bed & 4 drawer chest is very sturdy and very nice wood. I was surprised with the bed. I was use to the ones in the stores wobbleing, but ours does not. Maybe because James did a fantastic job putting it together :). Anyway, we still need to put the changing table together. Prolly do that this weekend.

I haven't looked into Dr Brown or any other bottles. My friend loves her Playtex bottles and so does her daughter, and I'm not one to research and try product after product so I am just going to use what she loves and let Luke decide if he likes it or not before I need to try other items.

Mo - Have a great time on vacation and I hope you are able to enjoy it and eat some yummy food.

It's crazy, right Mo? My mom drank caffeine her entire pregnancy with my brother and I. Crazy how times change, eh?

I will say that Noah will be vaccinated, circumsized, will sleep in a crib and will probably not drink of out glass bottles. He will also wear disposabale diapers....we have already started buying Huggies. He will also hopefully be breastfed! All of my nieces and nephews were raised this same way and they are all perfectly "normal." (knock on wood).

But, each parent is different and no one should be ridiculed for how they take care of their child, unless they are neglecting it or something horrible, but that's a different subjct!

In other words....don't worry about it! Just do what you did with your first child and I bet you will be fine! grouphug.gif

Lisa, we are going to look at baby furniture next week, JCP, will be on one of our stops! Thanks! I still need to look at that crib you posted.

I'm sorry I now have to bow out of this thread since it has now brought me to sobbing mess of tears. If anyone needs advice you can always pm me on bottles, cribs, food or anything. All I will say is subjecting a child to needless surgery is beyond me. All for cosmetics. No medical organization in the WORLD recognizes it. Good luck for all of you and congratulations on your little bundle of joys!

ETA: I wasn't trying to point to anyone in this thread on YOU SHOULD do this. Jessalyn and Karma both were researching things that I know something about it so I gave my two cents to THEM. I'm sorry if someone felt I was pushing it on them. I didn't mean it that way. Sorry if I did. That's all.

LOL..and well said! I might not agree with everything other people choose to do or not do, but I don't mind hearing both points of view in order to make an educated decision.

Now, back when our parents were pregnant with us, a lot of them drank. Steve's ex drank while she was pregnant with DSS and he struggles in school and almost for sure has fetal alcohol syndrome. He is having to repeat kindergarten this year. So just because people did it 30 years ago, doesn't necessarily make it ok. We are all fortunate to be having our children in the day and age where health information is available at the touch of a button and we can make educated decisions for what is best for us and our children.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
