Just a note to all of you with contracts... ADD them up yourself!!! I don't think that they do it on purpose but I have had her send me 2 revised contracts with the incorrect amounts (one time it was like $3,000 and I almost peed myself). Double check with a calculator because they don't use the formulas in excel!

Has any one else had problems with the language barrier with Gaby ? Don't get me wrong I find her very helpful but sometims it is so hard to explain on email and we end up sending half a dozen emails just trying to make sense of each other - sooo frustrating !

I have an issue at the moment. We would like to use our own IPOD and docking station for back ground music during dinner ( which alot of you have said this is no problem ) and then we are hiring Dreams equipment for 3 hours which I want to use after dinner for dancing. Gaby read the email as I want a londer reception and will have to pay more for longer use of Dreams equipment and drinks service huh.gif Surly we get drinks service with the meal which is included in the package and then after that we can all fetch our own drinks from the lobby bar as we are partying on the terrace ?? I do not want to pay extra for drinks service I find this a total waste of money. Does anyone have any thoughts on this ? I am feeling quite conserned : - (

( sorry for the long post )

We had the mariachi trio during the cocktail hour, so the sound guy moved the equipment from the gazebo to the reception area, inside and out on the terrace. Our dinner and reception music was all on our ipod, but the sound guy played it so that there were no 1 second gaps in between each song. He controlled the volume during speaches, played the right songs during the ritual dances, la vibora, the garter, bouquet toss, etc. I think it was worth paying for the extra time with the sound system. We had 41 people.

There is a bar in the tower lobby which is where we had dinner and reception, right next to our tables. Cannot remember what time the main lobby bar closes, but many of our guests were there until close that night.

Hi Paula, thanks for your responce, I'm just having a few issues at the moment trying to explain that I don't want to use my 3hours of dreams equipment during the dinner, I want to save it all for the partying after and use our docking station for back ground music during dinner, we'll see what she comes back with .....

ME!!!!!!

My questions were usually very simple. Like, I asked if I need to pay extra for the cake design I wanted, which is plain white with little dots or ribbon instead of having flowers that they gave as sample. She sent me back a list of VIP cake price instead of answering my question.

She skips my questions here and there, and I need to keep emailing her with those she didn't answer. Although it takes more time to reply, I appreciate her patient. Indeed, she's better in email than Claudia or Daneilla (I kind of worked with both).

We were lucky enough to be able to go down for a quick site visit- so we gave aour deposit in person.

I am pretty sure we are going to switch rooms- do 3 nights in a regular (deluxe) room and 3 nights in a club jacuzzi suite. (save a couple bucks) and then spend 2 night somewhere by ourselves TBA just to relax and be alone. maybe an adults only in playa ...still deciding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
