Kelly I'm sorry I thought I had a file of the menus and I don't. If I find my hard copy- I will scan and post but I am a disaster right now finishing my final case study for school. So I can't promise anything till after wed. I'm sorry!

On another note..

I don't know what the heck I am doing right now. I use BDW as a distraction from my work and I really need to stop. msncry.gif I'm stressed.

For those just starting out like me, here are a few questions of mine Daniela answered. Hope this helps!

I am interested in "The Aqua" package and is expecting 50 guests. Just have a few questions:

The Ceremony

· Is set-up/clean-up included in package? yes

· Is there anything that we will need that's not included in the package? Probably DJ, open bar…additional decoration maybe…

1/2 Post-Ceremony Cocktail Party

Where is this party typically held? Is it at the site of the dinner reception? Its usually held at the Tequila Reef Terrace. Where we also have the dinner receptions usually.

What are my options for having an open bar during the party? The charge for open bar is $10 usd + 10% tax + 15% service per person per hour.

Dinner Reception

· Is clean-up/tear-down included? Yes it is.

· What is the service charge or is it included? It is included.

· What are my options for having an open bar during the dinner? The same, $10 usd + + per person per hour. If you purchase the open bar for the 3 hours reception, I give you without charge the Open Bar during ½ hour cocktail post ceremony J

· If there are more than 20 people, do we order an additional cake? Is there a cake cutting fee? Ill let you know!

· How much time do we have for the dinner reception? It is a 3 hour dinner reception.

Lodging

· Are there any specials for the couple? If you book more than 20 rooms you will receive an upgrade subject to availability for the next category of room you booked.

· Is there a minimum requirement for in-house guests? Is there a max? Not exactly.

· Are there special rates for blocks of rooms for guests? There are, but those are the ratyes we use for Conventions and Incentive Groups, so actually I suggest to book with a Travel Agent or Tour Operator; you will find good deals wioth airfare, transportations and hotel stays J

· Typically, what are the all inclusive rates for May/June? I checked online for a 4 night stay for 2 guests and it was about $1200. Is this the rate per person or for the 2 guests? Yes those are the rates.

Other

Is it a requirement to use the in-house photographer and videographer? Do you have a portofolio of the photographer's work? If you bring your own photographer theres a $300 usd fee that has to be cover. You can see our photographer job at MEXICAN WEDDING PHOTOS and Cancun Wedding Videos | Mayan Riviera Wedding Videographer | Miguel Cantarell - Home

When we make a deposit it hold a date, can we also reserve a reception site? So far, my favorite is a beach ceremony and dinner outdoors. Yes you can do that.

Which date should I chose, if any at all? I will have to make a decision by tomorrow morning worried2.gif

May 18

Pros - In May so better weather?

Cons - Taking Mon & Tue off more inconvenient for guests?

June 19

Pros - On Friday, so more convenient for guests to fly?

Cons - Hurricane season, hot weather? Lower possibility of such?

Hmmm, if it were me, I would probably go with the Monday date. People can make a long weekend out of it. Do you have any guests that are absolute must haves at your wedding? (like parents, siblings, a best friend) If so, I would run it past them and make sure it will work, but be sure not to get too many opinions because you might end up going crazy. lol

I would check on some websites like Travelocity etc and see the price differences. If there is not much difference I would go with the Monday one. Really your guests are going to be taking off the same amount of vaca from work b/c they are going to be at the resort over the weekend still. So if you present it that way, then you won't have to deal with hurricane season and really hot temps.

That's my thoughts...

Rates from resort site and Expedia/Kayak/etc :

Sat, May 16 - Tue, May 19

$300 per night for 2 ppl -- all inclusive; Deluxe Garden View Junior Suite

$593 per person from Austin to Cancun

Thu, June 18- Sun, June 21

$300 per night for 2 ppl -- all inclusive

$652 per person from Austin to Cancun

Did you use a travel agent and were you able to get a better deal on flights and lodging? The resort rates aren't bad but it would be nice if the flights were lower. Most of our guests are flying from Texas, California, Pennsylania and Michigan.

If you could recommend anyone or share your experience I would greatly appreciate it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
