Did anyone write Jazmin about the Mixed Grill? We're having to cut some things from our wedding because it's just costing too much. I'm thinking about changing from the private theme dinner to a private mixed grill dinner. The thing I don't get though is the 'no sides'. I mean, is it JUST meat? That doesn't make sense at all to me. Who would eat just meat?

Hey RyanAmanda... I wrote Jazmin a few days ago asking about the mixed grill... someone said it does not include sides, just the meat, but I asked her if we could purchase sides (i.e. rice, veggie). It includes bread, but I will let you know as soon as she writes me back. The only thing is the fact that you have to eat on plastic plates and cutlery, which I know was mentioned before ( my friends said it's really not a huge deal). I will let you know what the response is as soon as I receive one!

I'm not sure who asked about the iPod, but this is what Jazmin said when I asked her about the iPod:

"And you are thinking in bring your own music for the ceremony, then please bring an audio cd ( I mean not mp3 or Ipod), sounds equipments are not allowed per hotel policies"

So we ended up bringing 3 CD's - 1 with ceremony music and 2 for the reception/dance.

And this is what she said regarding the ceremony (we had a religious one):

"I don´t have any copy from the Minister because he doesn´t have a format for the ceremonies,

But I can tell you that as the religious wedding is not a legal one ( in Mexico the religion has nothing to do with the law), so no papers are required, the wedding couple will receive a certificate from the minister. The minister is not catholic is non denominational one.

The wedding takes like 25 minutes and the minister talks about the couple , about love, reads some passages from the Bible and give the couple a blessing. (in this middle you can add the sand ceremony or at the end)

The exchange of vows is like the traditional one or the wedding couple can say their own.

The minister is very flexible so it has happened that there are weddings where some familiy membersw want to read something or they want to sing and it is ok.

Oh Hey, sorry, also wanted to ask, I am assuming we can just burn CDs on the computer and they will work down there? Sometimes people have CD players that do not play burnt CDs

Sunsierra - thanks for the info on the ipod and ceremonies. We were orig. planning to do the legal one but now my grandma is really sick and can not travel so we are now considering the legal one at home so she can come and the religous one in Mexico.

Did you use the DJ or were you able to rent the equipment. If you used the DJ was he able to MC or did you have someone else do that?

OMG, I didn't even think about having an MC... I guess we would do it our selves if we had to... I am quite animated lol... maybe I can be the bride AND direct people to do electric slide!

I believe you have to be in Mexico four days previous to the wedding and have the blood test. We are going to legally get married at home as well because we want my finace's younger sister to be present and she can not come to Mexico... his mother might not be able to make it either, but we are being positive and hoping she will!
