Did any of you ladies that were married at Dreams do programs? Do you have pics that I can look at? I'm using the regular generic ceremony but I'm not sure how to title things... like 'welcome' 'prayer' etc because its really hard to tell from what Dreams emails us.... Any ideas?

I have a question about deposit!

I am a August 2009 bride, and on the first contract I received, deposit date is December 2008. However, since the previous WC left, Gaby the new WC sent me an updated contract, but she wanted me to make the deposit by Mid August this year!

Did anyone need to pay deposit like a year ahead?? I emailed her, and she said she has to get it by that time. Sigh...

Hi Everyone,

After not getting a response from Claudia on numerous emails, yesterday I asked my TA to help and today I get the answers I wanted. I figured I'd share everything I've been sent. Some of it I already had, but other things, like the new dinner menu, were new to me.

First, here are some of the question and answers:

What size tables do you have so that I can plan out the seating chart?

In a round table you can accomodate 6,7,8,9, or 10 people

Can you give me the typical timeline of the ceremony / reception?

ceremony is @ 20 minutes, cocktail 1 hour, reception 3 hours

Also, is there a tour booth at the resort to help setup excursions? What would be the best way to look into excursions in Cancun?

please contact: [email protected] (assuming she means [email protected], but haven't tried it yet)

Can you give me a quote for the tiki torches for the beach reception?

no charge for this

Also, I recall reading there was a discount for the price of the sound system if you book it for multiple hours. I would like it for the ceremony and the 3 hr reception. Can you confirm the pricing?

sound system for 4 hours $ 700 usd (not DJ)

Will a webcam be available by Oct 26th?

unfortunately we don`t have available this project for weddings yet

My parents just went to Cancun for a wedding at the Omni and unbeknownst to me, they went to Dreams and met up with Gaby. Here are some of the answers they got out of her (wish I knew they were going, I have a ton more questions!)

-it costs $4 per room to have our oot bags delivered or we can do it ourselves for nothing

-she let me swap the cake and flowers included in the dreams of love package for ceremony music (a $198 savings!)

-kids under 5 years old eat for free at the reception...all others are full price

-she is letting me replace the bride's makeup application included in the package for a trial hairstyle a few days before the wedding

-The 10 person round reception tables are 60" wide (i wanted to make tablecloths)

-they don't allow fire dancers at the reception

-a solo guitarist to play at the wedding will cost $480 plus 10% tax

-we are having a family member play his guitar for the ceremony and they okayed him to hook his guitar up to their sound system

-there is no guest pass for guests or vendors that arrive one hour or less before the wedding

-she is letting me replace the photos in my package for the guest passes i was going to have to buy to get my outside photographer into the resort more than an hour beforehand

-the flower girl is allowed to drop real petals down the aisle

-for the buffet dinner, you get the choice of 2 salads, 3 entrees, 2 desserts, 1 soup, and one option of a vegetable/rice/or potato

hope this helps someone!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
