does anyone know if they ask for the kids IDs when you check in? i have two nieces that will have JUST turned 3 years old and I think its ridiculous to pay $55 per day for each of them (in addition to their 4 older brothers and sisters)...

I have just received an email from Lizette in response to my question about the hut dinner set up on the previous page. She said that dinner option is for the Silver or Gold menus but she didn't answer my question which was how much extra it is if I am having the free wedding package. It's a start!

I would be curious to know more about this as well. Currently, we have airport transfers arranged through our vacation company, but it's not private so it may make tons of stops along the way if there are other people on our bus staying at different resorts. This may make for a looong trip! If the price is right, I'd be interested in paying for private transfers for my group.

SunBride, you're from Ottawa too right? Did you book through Air Canada Vacations by any chance?

For example, Ashjanbro is getting married 2 days after me and she was given the new prices (although I guess I did book sooner). I think it's going to be sticky to try and get them to honour their old prices for us who have weddings scheduled in 2009. I'm crossing my fingers that we'll get the old prices, but my FI are budgeting according to the new prices just so that we don't get scr#@* over!
There are many other brides in the exact same position as you. One or two of them (forget who, it was somewhere in the last 20-30 pages of the old thread) has confirmed with Lizette that brides who booked when teh old guide was in place will be allowed to follow the policies of the old guide. You should get in touch with one of the coordinators to confirm, in writing. Also save your old emails from when you booked amd bring them with you as proof.

Sounds familiar but can't remember the details, sorry. We need to go through the old thread and move all the most usefull information to the first page of this one! But that would take another 30 hours of work on top of the 30 or so I put into creating the new thread!

Yes, see my review (at the end of "Part 1" section) where I discuss in detail my transportation experience with ACV.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are lenient on this (if I remember correctly you are using the free package). Don't get your hopes up too high, you can ask if they will include it for free as part of your package or just charge you a small flat service charge rather than having to upgrade your menu to gold or silver for each person.

I can't remember the specific companies that offer this, but many do. I know dream days offers this, so you could check with Irene, but their rates were more than others I saw. The call it private shuttles or private transfers. Many I saw were for up to 10-12 people.

Neen, I don't believe they check IDs but you should double check. When I checked in, the rest of my party had already wandered into the resort to check it out. Never did they ask me, who is here with you? Age? etc etc

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
