We would like SOME privacy for our big day!! Need your advice

Recommended Posts

my ceremony was on a piece of land that sticks out into a lagoon. people were watching from the beach, but they couldn't get close. I'll be uploading my video soon so you can see what it was like.

I did walk through the pool area with my mom on the way to the ceremony. the people didn't bother me. I wouldn't have liked them right there during the ceremony though. They were far enough back that i never noticed anyone was watching until i saw the pictures & video.

there have been some very private ceremonies i believe. isn't the ana y jose place very private?

Hi Danielle,
Thanks for also suggesting the Paradisus. I'm excited to hear more!! Just looked at the website and WOW!! I know it's one of the more spendy resorts but if you don't mind me asking what were your guests quoted for their stay? I ask because we plan on having our wedding next Oct/November.
Thanks

Hi Morgan!
I am so excited to see your video...the description of the lagoon sounds amazing!! Which resort were you married at? About the people obviously it's a resort and other people are staying there too, I just don't want people in their speedos gawking...ew!! Do you have any idea where ana y jose were married? Thank you!!

yes, that's what I wanted. I didn't care if there were people around, but I just didn't want them up in our business while we were getting married. I was married at catalonia riviera maya. it was one of the less expensive resorts. they have 2 private reception options, we we just did a semi-private dinner. it's not a luxury resort, but we loved it.

ana y jose is the name of a hotel. i may have gotten the name wrong. I'm also drawing a blank on the name of the bride married there....her mom is on the forum, oh i'll do a search to see if I can find it. I remember it looking very private.

I think "ana y jose" is actually a resort...
Tulum Hotels - Ana y Jose - Beach Cottages Tulum, Mexico

We're getting married at the Royal...and I've heard that even though we're getting married on the beach, that it will be removed enough from the lounge chairs to ellude privacy, and the hotel security is pretty good about preventing to much intrusion by other guests...which is a nice touch in my books.

OH & i just saw in my siggy pic you can see the land we were on in the lagoon. I loved the location because of how it gave us privacy. plus the water was calm so it wasn't loud. people did kayak by, but i enjoyed seeing that in the video.

The wedding area is not right in the middle of things like Becks said. There are pictures of a wedding here Photos of Paradisus Riviera Cancun, Puerto Morelos - Resort (All-Inclusive) Images - TripAdvisor and the resort site is Paradisus Riviera Cancun | All Inclusive Cancun Vacation Packages Those pictures are on tripadvisor if the link doesn't work.
Thank you for those links! The pictures from trip advisor were very detailed..awesome!! Thanks again!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
