Your EDR coordinator should be able to email it to you. I know Monica sent me a copy, but I can't seem to put my fingers on it for you.

I have been to a friends DW in Mexico and it is still really nice with the translation. Afterall, we are in Mexico!!!! You may want to consider writing your own vows because this will help to make the ceremony more personal for you. You could also have someone do a reading. This may help you feel more comfortable with the ceremony since only a small portion will be in Spanish then.

We got married there legally. At first, I was going to do symbolic, but changed a few months ahead of time. I have the script at home- I'll post it tonight! :)

Vince was like -"I can't believe you got us going down there and it being in spanish, etc" -but he was sold after the ceremony and said he was glad we did it legally there...

 

The ceremony was kinda blurry for me-honestly-- i had a slight freakout right as we were driving up in our golfcart and my dad (who coached me in basketball all during HS) was telling me to get my "game face on" and my sister (also in the golf cart) was telling me to lean over and "throw up and get it over with"---- so it was good times- hehe :) ...... we laugh about that now...

The judge would say something and then the WC would translate.... the legal part. But they had something about a Mexican philosopher and how important marriage is (like a nice speech) that was totally in English done by the WC. Only the legal part was done by the judge and done in Spanish and translated.

 

Then we were able to do our own vows, our own ring exchange and the sand ceremony-- and that was all done by the WC in English- the judge didn't do any of that-- there was no translation done for that...

 

So the parts I remember-- I enjoyed! and it seemed to go really smoothly and we still got our personal parts in just English......I'm glad we did it legally there.

They mailed us the translated documents and I had no problem getting my name and everything changed here with doing it legally in Mexico....

The minister, priest may speak english. I know the judge definitely doesn't speak any english. We personally enjoyed the ceremony in spanish also. It was quick even with the translation. We don't speak any spanish either. Kind of wish I did or knew some of it. We also didn't want to do the stuff at home. To do it again wouldn't feel real. Just like my AHR I put my dress on again. It felt weird doing it all over again.

We had a few reading done by our guest. We didn't do our own vows and wish we would of to make in more personal. Especially since they don't even do the normal vows and you repeat them. The only thing you have to remember is to say I DO... Yet we still loved the ceremony and it will be a day to remember forever!!!

Has anyone had any experience with any of the "approved" photographers/videographers at EDR? My FI and I have decided to use one of the resorts photographers to avoid the $500 fee. The choices are Caribe Photo; Royale Photo; Claudia Rodriguez, or Mexican Wedding Photos. I know a lot of people on this forum have said positive things about Claudia, but, I'm wondering about the others....the prices vary quite a bit, so, I'm wondering what the best choice is... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, that's new. When I got married, we only had one choice, I believe Caribe Photo. I haven't heard a ton positive about them, but apparently they're getting better.

There's a thread here if you will go search for Claudia. She would probably be your best bet if pics are important to you.

Umm-- maybe a week or 2?? Not very long. We had documents when we left too- I get confused about what is what.. Right now, I have about 5 documents- some of them are copies I think though, and some are in Spanish and some in English. I just took all of them to the Social Security's office and the DMV when I went to change my name and had no problems.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
