Texas Girls?

Any Texans out there? I'm still debating to have a destination wedding (Azul Sensatori in RM) or a wedding in Dallas (?). Does anyone have any ideas about Dallas locations that aren't the same ole same ole thing?

I am a Texas girl....there are quite a few that live in the Dallas area.

I live in San Antonio, so I can't help you, but I will say that if money is one reason you want a DW, havng a wedding in Dallas will cost A LOT more. But, if it's not a matter of money, then I say follow your heart and have it where you want to have it! :)

We are having a DW because if we had it here, it would cost A LOT because we would have 250 plus guests...this way we are only having 35. :)

Same ole thing as in? Like a church? I don't have a lot of ideas for you lol hence me going to Cancun. If I was going to have it out here though I was thinking about going to P.K. and having it at the top of a cliff overlooking the water.

I found a few good ideas on the Knot website. But, can't remember exactly what they were. I know they were all in the downtown Dallas area. I believe maybe Museum of Arts was one or the Arboretum...really cool places. But, very expensive. I would have loved to do something like that, but definitely not in the budget as we are opening a Philly Cheessteak Franchise. Destination is our way to go. I think I may have them saved. I'll look when I get home and post if I find them.

Dallas Arboretum Home Page

The Dallas Arboretum is definitely a great place to have an outside, different style if wedding/reception. I've gone to a wedding there, and it's absolutley beautiful!

Belo Mansion & Pavilion

The Belo Mansion is also a hot spot for a non-church wedding. We've also been to a wedding/reception there and it was lovely!

City Place :: Dallas, TX

City Place is also a great place for a wedding and/or reception.

That's all I can think of right now. JaimeLynn is also very familiar with the city, so she will most likely chime in. Let me know if you have any questions.

Grr...I typed it out and it logged me off.

Anyways, I helped my sister plan her wedding a few years ago. She couldn't find anything! She had alot of Dallas cops though and didn't want it in the city. So my previous boss had gotten married on the canal in Las Colinas. It was so pretty. The two guy who owns the terrace are from Switzerland and they're master chef, so they do all the food AND the cake. And the bar. So you have less vendors! Oh and they have all the linen and plates and such and prety candlebras. And it's so gourgeous. She got married in the cobblestone garden outside and then they moved inside for dancing and dinner. Then they rode away on a Gondola while an the Gondolier guy sang and we had sparklers. Anyways it's really nice. We got ready across the street at the Omni Mandalay and they stayed the night their and flew out the next morning. Anyways the site is

Venetian Terrace

I was going to suggest the Arboretum, but I see it's already been mentioned here a couple of times!

I wonder if you could hold it at the Nasher out in the sculpture garden...?

It's hard to say - hence why we are flying away to PV for our wedding! wink.gif

Have you been to any local bridal shows? I think you might find some unique ideas there. Good luck! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
