Ooohh, I have lots of Alba's Hawaiian line too and I love it!! And I'm covering my ears on Palmer's containing something bad ~ I don't think I can part with it after all these years oops.gif
OMG hahahaha GUILTY! This past Saturday I took the tags off of a dress that I bought last summer and wore it! I went to the garage to look for something and found a box of shoes from when we moved, some unworn. My husband thinks I should toss them since I forgot about them anyway but I can't do it. What's up with us??

And yes, Palmer's is one of my favorites too...well we can't be perfect and I'm willing to bend on that one :P

That is sooo good to know! Not sure what Gemini is, I'll have to google it-- all I know about that is that it's my FI' sign and he has split personalities. stupid.gif

Can anyone recommend *good* make up lines that fall in this category?

Okay, I'll have to check out Origins stuff. I use Aveda hair products, so I am sure I'll like their make up too. I am scared to buy Bare Escentials. I have read so many reviews that are either glorious or terrible-- not sure it's for me and it sounds like a lot of work to get it to look right.

Actually it is soooo easy, and I know nada about makeup, I mean I still don't know how to do stuff like eyeliner! This stuff is super easy though (like takes less than 5 minutes) and looks good.

This is a great thread! smile29.gif

I have natural hair (the pic in the siggy is old) and I will have to say I really like Oyin handmade and Carol's Daughter. Her products smell amazing. I have also heard that Qhemet Biologics is good, but I haven't tried them yet. I am just trying to polish off what I currently have before I try anything new. I just buy and buy, I am addicted. Natural coconut oil I hear works wonders on the skin. My mom used to make it when I was a kid, and it's awesome. I also like anything with natural shea butter, jojoba oil, honey, or aloe. Stay away from that petroleum, it just clogs the pores.

  • 2 weeks later...

I work for Origins so I'm a little biased but...

We introduced a real USDA certified Organic Line in the fall and it's selling like crazy. The USDA seal means it's food quality organic and completely free of everything. Other than that, European co's use the Eco-CERT seal (meaning Natural, not Organic) however, this is not a government agency so who really knows what goes on....

Makeup, Bare Escentials is ok, however, NOT their skincare line. Not the same as Bare Minerals or other mineral makeup either.

There are lots of websites out there that are all run by independent groups and if you read enough of them we wouldn't be able to use anything on ourselves!

Aveda, Origins...yes we are both plant-based but not all-natural (neither is anyone else I'd like to point out) in the Prestige brand world. The difference between us and co like MAC, clinique, etc., is that the preservatives are not your typical cosmetic co preservatives. We both use food-preservatives. This means if you eat boxed foods like cereal or Mac and Cheese, frozen foods, like Lean Cuisine that are not all-natural, you already consume these.

Origins uses wind energy in all of our corporate offices, stores, and manufacturing facilities, we use recycled packaging, papertowels, and non-chemical cleaning supplies. We also offer FREE FACIALS and makeup!

I've Bridal party makeup every Saturday for the last 6 weeks on the day of their weddings and all for FREE!! There's nothing better than doing a brides makeup on her wedding day and helping to bring out her natural beauty!

Hope this helps!

I absolutely LOVE my Alba body butters....and I only use Pureology shampoos and conditioners since they are sulfite free and vegan. I use this face wash:

Buy Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash with Organic Tea Tree Oil and Awapuhi Online at drugstore.com

And just started using this daily face moisturizer and night serum...they are paraben free and I love them so far:

Nutri-Pro Night Serum with Nutrx 8 Complex | Skin Appetit | Beauty & Spa | Walgreens

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
