E-pics tomorrow. I need some advice

Recommended Posts

I am so excited, FI and I are taking are e-pics tomorrow. It's kinda funny cause It's Canada Day tomorrow and its also the day we got engaged. So itâ€s a real special day for us, and I want to look real cute!

Anyhoo Iâ€ve heard so many mixed feelings about what 2 & what not 2 wear on your e-pics shoot, but I need some more advice from fellow bride 2 bes on what to wear. Should I go all dressy/club or something more laid back and comfyhuh.gif

Were taking the pics in 2 different locations. The 1st has a more urban/city background and the other is at a local Toronto beach.

Gosh I'm so confused I really want the pics to be just right. Gosh I'm such a dork... LOL...

So ladies what should I do?

It was freezing cold when we took ours so I was bundled up with heels and jeans.

I personally like the casual look, but then again he and I are both pretty casual people. I like the contrast in the urban setting and think it will look very natural with the beach setting. You could always do both.

My only tip would be to wear a little more make up than usual so you can see it in the photos.

If you are doing two different locations, why don't you try two different outfits? Personally I prefer more formal attie which is why I wore a dress. Dean wears suit & tie to work everyday (including casual fridays) so it was very appropriate for us :)

I can;t wait for your pics!!

I'm sure you will look fantastic no matter what you wear!

I'd like to suggest something a bit different. I've shot literally hundreds of engagement pictures - Here's two things to think about -

#1 - Remember that you two are in love. If you can, forget about the camera for a few moments, and just try to be in the moment with your fiancee. Have him hold you close, snuggle, enjoy each other, and just be!

#2 - Look for spots with "open Shade" Avoid direct sunlight. Instead look for a big shady area near the side of a building (don't get right up next to the wall all the time), or under an awning. Also avoid spotty shade, like under a tree, where there are lots of light and dark patches that can make your face and clothes look mottled.

Have fun, and be sure to post a link here when you are all done!

I think it really depends on you and your fiance. Jay and I are so laid back and casual that when we were going to take ours (we didn't get to afterall) we were going to wear jeans and black shirts....We would never wear a suit and a dress, but that is just because that's not really us.

this is totally us too martha :) we both wore jeans, doug wore a black hoodie and i wore a black velvet jacket, he wore hi-top vans, and i wore my work dansko's. just like an everyday normal out fit for both of us. the pics we ended up liking best were close ups anyways, so really all that mattered was makeup being heavier than normal, and we wanted to wear the same color.

Well... my engagement pictures were a surprise and I was told to wear fancy clothes. I love our pictures, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd go more casual.

For your shoot in particular... I'd do jeans and heels for the urban part...

and then what about a really nice sun dress for the beach part? I love flowy dresses on the beach. Perhaps your FI should wear kahki pants. I always think those look best on the beach. He should wear jeans in the city to match you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
