wedding band shopping

Recommended Posts

so today I went and tried on some wedding bands to figure out what I like on my finger. I was at the mall so I just went to some of the chain jewelry stores, Gordons and Hannoush.

Has anyone bought there rings from either of these places and how do you feel about them? Also are there prices competitive with what you would get at a local jewelry store and also how do you feel about the quality.

Since I will be wearing this ring for the rest of my life, I want a nice ring. Also, they wrote the rings down for me & I saw the prices on the tags, but they gave me a discounted price, I'm assuming because they know I'm shopping and want me to come back.

I tried a 1 karat, 3/4 eternity band, with the milligrain band, priced at 1205, but she gave me the price of 980, if I bring her card back with me

the other place I tried, it was called a bostonian, 4 diamonds prong setting, 1/2 carat $995

and channel set, 1/2 eternity, 1/2 carat 800

I think my favorite was the first one, but I also like the diamonds with the shared prongs.

but my real question is where should I go to buy my ring, hahaha

sorry to ramble!!

OK Jill, IMO I would NEVER get a ring from a mall. I only say this because they mark their rings WAY up that's the reason they "give you a discount" even with the discount you will more then likely find a better quality diamonds and a place other then the mall. Have you shopped around online yet? Maybe BlueNile or something?

I would figure out what you want & then have your local jeweler make it for you - just bring pictures. You will get such better quality diamonds for a fair price this way...the mall stores are a total rip off & their diamonds are never great quality....

PS> I really like the shared prong bands too! That's what I ended up getting.

Thanks girls for the advice, I was a little leary about the mall stores as well, but I figured at least it was a good place to try some on to see what I liked.

I have looked online, A LOT, but wasn't really sure what I liked so it helped to go and try them on, to see what looked good.

I did check out the site Anny got hers from and saw some that I liked, and I am considering ordering from them.

There is a also a site Edyta posted that I found some I liked as well.

Maybe I'll try checking the local jewelers to see what there prices are.

thanks for the advice!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
