Do You Tip at Sonic?

o.k., I've only read the 1st page on this thread, but had to respond.

I LOVE SONIC! I went yesterday and got a Orange Cream Slush......yummmmm!!!!!

I only tip the change part of my change - not dollars. If that makes sense. If mine was $.98 cents - - I would just tell them to keep the 2 pennies or whatever I would have gotten back. Unless it's 102 degrees outside like it was yesterday and I felt so bad for the girls running around, that I gave her an extra $.50 cents :] I know, I know...I'm a huge tipper....lol

WELL, when we went to Disneyland for our anniversary there was a Sonic like 5 miles away and WE WENT! I agree with everyone who recommended the cherry limeade, wowsers!!! I wish they sold that by the liter!

And no, we didn't tip...but I did take pictures because it was so monumental for me...LOL
I totally remember that thread jamy! I can't believe you took a photo of sonic LMAO you're too cute!

Whenever we go we tip them they always wear roller blades and I think it's talent when you can carry 2 ice creams on skates!

I wonder if gas prices have kept the kids from cruising in my town like the used to.
I am so jealous! I always wanted to live in a town that cruised up and down a street. We just hung out in the parking lot of Del Taco. smile116.gif

omg- I haven't read this thread all the way thru but I love Sonic! There's not one anywhere near where I live, but we go to VA every year and I make my FI take me there at least once. Any place that sells tater tots is a good place to me! Oh- and I don't tip there... I don't think its ever even crossed my mind before.

OMG Morgan - we totally use to do this!! We LOVED cruisen. We would always jump into boys cars that we din't know and ride to the end of the street where we all got out. Too funny!

o.k., Funny Sonic story.....all of us girls use to work at Sonic when we were in high school. Well I made Lariette (varsity drill team) and we had to go up to Sonic dressed up like different things....me being a chicken....and lay in the middle of the walkway - where everyone looks when they are parked there, and fry like bacon! Yep - me being a sophmore in high school on a Friday night dressed like a chicken - frying like bacon in front of everyone! punk.gif Man I was cool! What a great initiation...

Morgan they totally do this in my town. They just recently built another sonic on the other side of town. They use to go from Sonic to this shopping center now it's sonic to sonic. My little brother does the cruise every fri and sat night lol So funny. Growing up I lived in such a rural area we didn't have a cruise sad.gif we always just went to the lake.

I've never heard of any of the places you guys have mentioned!!

I have heard of sonic, we have commercials here, but I don't think there are any anywhere near us.

There ice cream things always look really good on the commercials.

As far as tipping, I do agree that I think tipping has gotten way out of hand. I was a waitress for a long time making $2.63 per hour and I always tip well, but c'mon, when I see those tip cups at dunkin donuts or other fast food places, I get so mad because I know that they're not making $2.63 per hour, they're making minimum wage, and they're only getting me a coffee, not a whole meal.

If I have leftover change sometimes I'll leave that or if I have a really big order, but on a $.98 drink, I would just hand over a dollar and that would be it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
