The coordinators are great to work with and respond in a timely manner. It does end up being kind of pricey which is why went with the partial takover. More guests = more $ for the dinner, bar etc. I was also looking at las caletas but that really wasn't much cheaper. Let me know if you have any questions.

We have already booked our week, the minister and photogrpaher and our wedding is not until Oct 2009. Good luck.
Thanks! I think we are sold. It is expensive in a way, but what isn't?!. I think you get what you pay for in life!
Who are you using for a photographer and how much is it costing you?

P.S. I live in Excelsior, MN... are you right in Mpls or the burbs?

We did the full takeover and are a little stressed now b/c the rooms aren't filling quite as fast as we had hoped....still have a while though!

Lindsay and Adam are amazing. Yes, PF is a little more expensive than some other places, but we figure we are getting a 5 day party out of it.

We are using Michelle Turner as our photographer. She is higher end, meaning more $$, but her pictures are absolutely amazing. You can visit her website at Michelle Turner Photography - Maine and Destination Wedding Photography

Good luck!!

Thanks! Do you have a photography estimate? The one I like is about $6k... so a ballpark would be helpful! And what you are getting for that amount.

I am debating whether to do a full or partial takeover, still. I don't need any more stress... I am already moving my wedding accross the country of Mexico. That's all of the stress I can take!

I agree.... I just got back from PV and Playa Fiesta is amazing. It is like a small little hotel all to yourself. Adam and Lindsay aren't only the best people I met in PV, they are so in love and so it is their pleasure to ensure your time there is magical. You will have the wedding of your dreams there.

Congrats......

Oh and honestly getting married there isn't as expensive as other options. It is totally worth it. They are also doing a reno this summer so it is going to be even more amazing by the fall.

Cheers

Kath

PS I have pics if you would like me to send them to you

We did the partial takeover b/d we didn't want to additional stress of trying to fill the rooms. You can always have more guests than the rooms reserved. We are using Beth for the photographer she is keeping her 2008 prices for 2009 so that was nice. Her pics cost 3K but you get a all rights to the pics plus all imaged digitally enhanced on the DVD.

By the way congrats on booking and yes I do live in Minneapolis.

It is around 5k, and includes full coverage on the day of the wedding, plus a shoot the day before the wedding (casual, romatic type photos) and rights to all the high res digital images of all the photos....

  • 1 month later...

Well, how many people are in your group (estimate)huh.gif Playa Fiesta requires a 20 bedroom minimum- so you would need at least 40 people. It is a smaller, more private venue. What are you looking for?

I was considering Dreams Tulum first and decided on PF because it is private, intimate... like renting a villa without having to foot the whole bill. We are expecting around 50.

I also like it because the WC Lindsay communicates with you, is from the US... makes a difference.

If you are laid back, and aren't into tiny details Dreams would be great. Many people haven't had much luck communicating with Dreams WCs until right before the wedding... but it turns out beautiful. I am not quite that hands off and am a worrier.... so PF rocks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
