Over the counter tooth whitening??

You guys are the best! I'm going to the drug store tonight to see what they have to offer.

I was so bummed, because my dentist does the superfast light-treated whitening, but charges an arm and 2.7 legs! So, not so much.

But now I have hope that I will have pretty white teeth for my wedding!

Woo hoo!

my mom did the instant thing & wasn't thrilled. She still has to use something like whitestrips from her dentist. with teeth that are already white it won't take long to get your teeth gleaming for the wedding.

I used to use crest strips all of the time and they really work. Now, they kill my teeth. I can only wear them for about 30 seconds before excrutiating pain begins shooting up my teeth. It does the same to my FI.

If you can stand them though use them. My BM uses them and has the whitest teeth I have ever seen.

We recently bought the Aquafresh trays (actually we bought the Target brand). These burned our gums a little but we did not have any tooth sensitivity. We just finished one box and will do another before the wedding. It lighted my FI's teeth about 2 shades in one box.

Good thread! I get my braces off in August and I know I will want to bleach them again without paying the dentist huge amounts to get it done. I did that when I had braces the first time and my teeth were very sensitive. I tried it twice and had the same results. Teeth looked wonderful, but I NEVER wanted to open my mouth! Hmmm...maybe I should do it right before the wedding to ensure I can get in my wedding dress!rofl.gif So it's good to know I can try an OTC and most likely get great results.

I bought Aquafresh White Trays (about $30) for my wedding... I used about 3 days' worth and it burned my gums severely. There was a little bit of pain at first, but not bad. It was horrific though - my gums were red, swollen and had white bits on them where they were burned. It really scared the crap out of me.
On the other hand, this brand really whitened my teeth, even in 3 days. The burning went away in a day.

Ugh. If you're not too sensitive. Try these out. I have 10 trays left. I'll never use them again!

and the only one that i recommend to people is the GoSmile system. you can get it at sephora. it's a bit pricey, but nowhere near as pricey as pro whitening (i spent about $120 for the starter kit, the refill ampoules are about $29)

sephora is running a special right now on it for $99 Sephora: GoSMILE Summer Smile Kit ($140 Value): Tooth Care

i have extremely extremely sensitive teeth, and this is the only OTC whitener system that doesnt kill me. i only get sensitive after like the 5th day. feel free to ask me questions - im super busy at work today but will be in and out of the forum when i get some free moments.
I love go smile...I use there toothpaste everyday(and you shouldn't swallow this one, it has a poison control warning on the back) and use the trays when I have something coming up. It is amazing me teeth feel and look better and no burning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
