Rainy season doesn't really start until May. Our wedding was April 19 and we had showers the morning of -- but no rain. It rained only 1 day in Punta Cana while we were there for our DW and HM ... and it was the day we took the Saona Island excursion, so we never even saw a drop!

When it did sprinkle, it was quick showers and the sun was back out.

Hi Tammy I wonder if you could tell me if you were at the Palma Real or the Paradisus- and whether it was cost effective and worth it for your guests.

Thanks

I was down in PC at the same time as Tammy and I agree, we were also on an excursion on the afternoon it rained! To the Marinarium! you were wet anyway, so it didn't really matter!

On the second week we were there we had a really good downpour thundershower that lasted a good 3-4 hours, lost the satellite and everything!! We just wandered up to the lobby and played some cards and drank some booze!

Our wedding was at Paradisus Punta Cana (we were there Wed-Mon) and then we moved to Paradisus Palma Real for our honeymoon (Mon-Sun).

Definitely the right two decisions. PPC was PERFECT for a fun group of wedding guests (we had 40 people age 4-80) and everyone had the time of their life. PPR was much more luxurious and quiet. Very little nightlife. Better for a honeymoon than a large group IMHO.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
