Sand Ceremony
Minister - TREVOR:
There are two children who will share in this marriage. Trevor and
Alixzandra
will now come forward to help us with the Blending of the Sands. The
joining of
this new family will have a deep influence upon them. We realize that
in order
for the home to be a happy one, it is essential that there be love and
understanding between the children and the adults being married.
For Trevor and Ali the celebration can be more than just witnessing.
This is an
opportunity for them to bring themselves into the new family and in a
symbolic
sense to give themselves to this new venture of the marriage of their
father.
Abbie and Doug, today you are making a life-long commitment to share
the rest
of your lives with each other and honor Doug’s children as well. Your
family
relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these individual
containers
of sand.
One representing you, Abbie, and all that you were, all that you are,
and all
that you will ever be, one representing you, Doug, and all that you
were and
all that you are, and all that you will ever be and another container
for each
child.

As you each hold your sand, the separate containers of sand represent
your
lives to this moment; individual and unique. As you now combine your
sand
together, your lives also join together as one family. You may now
blend the
sand together symbolizing the uniting of the children and bride and
groom into
one.
Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again
into the
individual containers, so will be your marriage and your family.
Abbie,

This is so beautifuly worded. Where did you find it? I have been looking for something to do for our AHR b/c I wanted to include his neice and nephew in some way. Maybe the kids can pour 2 colors and we can pour 2 colors. Any information would be great.

Thanks,

Heather

the container with the candle, im burning the candle down most of the way, then we'll pour the sand on top. it has a sealing lid, to keep the sand in nice and tight.

i just googled sand ceremony then picked the one i liked the best and tweaked it to fit. i think you could probably tweak this one to fit with the neice and nephew, somehow. just change up the wording to make it say having them celebrate with their uncle and new auntie!

hehe :)
ok so i found the candle at target and i loved the shape, plus because it has a sealing type of lid, i thought it would be perfect. so i'm burning it down as much as i can before the wedding, but leaving an inch or 2 of candle in the bottom for 2 reasons, 1)the color matches perfectly, and 2), 4 lbs of sand wont quite fill the jar so im leaving a little wax to make the sand need less room, does that make more sense?? sorry sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
