I have been reading different feedback negative and positive. I want to have a small wedding with about 40 guests. Any information would be appreciated. OH and by the way, do my guests have to stay there at this hotel in order to attend wedding? Im reading that I need to get them $70;00 day passes
If your guests are not staying in the resort they will be charged a day pass fee of $50.00. Not sure if it has gone up to $70.00 since I last checked. There is lots of information on the forum on Dreams Cancun. You can search for it by using the search feature. Let me know if I can help elefant.gif

It think it's ok to wait for a little longer since May & June are the most popular wedding time, and the WCs are very busy. I am also having my wedding in August 2009, and it seems like they still have a lot of available times. I think they can hold at least 2 weddings on the same day. So you should be good, and just be patient.

Drop them an email later again if they don't get back to you like in other 2 weeks, I guess? Good luck!

Do they really do 2 weddings per day?? How is that even possible if you don't pick every detail til the day you have your meeting with the coordinator? I wonder what they do if both people want their wedding at the same time at the gazebo? Got an email back from Daniella (they switched it up on me, lol)...but she didn't exactly confirm my date, she just sent me wedding info I already knew...frustrating...

Hi and welcome! You will definitely find all you need here. I think the 'negatives' you will find are about communication with the wedding coordinators and us being crabby about certain policies and/or prices. Other than that, Dreams Cancun has a reputation for putting on amazing weddings and providing great service. Despite the lack of communication long before your wedding from the WCs, the ladies who have already been married there will assure you that it gets better as your date nears and no matter what, they don't miss a beat when it is your time. I am having about 40 guests too and they are all very excited about the resort. I let people know about surrounding hotels if they don't want to do all inclusive but the only way it will end up being worth it is if they are not drinkers (didn't tell them the last part). I think all of our guests will stay at the resort. Have fun searching and feel free to PM me or the others if you have questions!

I think it is rare although it might be happening more often as destination weddings and Dreams get more popular. From my understanding, they will only do two in one day if one is a morning and one an afternoon/evening and even then, I think one of them has to be very small in scale. They will get enough details from you ahead of time to make sure not to double book anything. She'll confirm your date, just fill out the excel spreadsheet thing they send (or ask for it) and send it their way.

thank you dc22173...I will take that into consideration. Maybe my guests can stay there on the wedding day, I just dont want to inconvenience my guests and have them pay over 300.00 for a room..elefant.gifelefant.gif

NH Krystal is right across the street from Dreams, I might just send them there after the wedding night if Dreams cant give me a good deal. Now should I use a travel agent? Are they better at finding better deals for my guests?girl_werewolf.gifgirl_werewolf.gif

I did read from this forum that someone saw at least 2 weddings in a day during their stay in the resort. Of course, happened separately. I think that not all brides wanted to hold ceremony at gazbo, maybe some would want to host it on the beach? Then it might be more possible to happen at the same time in a day, I guess...

Yep, they ask to fill out the Excel form, and give them approximate what time during the date you want to have your ceremony.

I know! I wish I could find whoever it is that is having their wedding on the same day as mine. It's too bad their isn't a guestbook where we could leave this website for other brides to find....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
