i know it sucks to spend another $200 or $250 but if it is fixed for good it will be worth it. if you keep going back there and they don't know what they are doing and think you are a problem customer, i would be concerned that they would keep f--king things up KWIM?

Each time I'd call them the next day & let them know it's still not working. So it's not like I waited a long time. I figured I was just SOL for the $250. I'm not sure if I'll get it fixed. $250 was more than I wanted to spend in the first place. I replaced the motor a few years ago & that was $150. So that's already $400 for one window. I've spend about $100 on the other. If I spend another $250 getting the one fixed (if they can even fix it) another part can always break.

I personally would just rather have hand crank windows & not have to deal with all of this.

This place I took it only does windows. So I don't know that anyone else could figure it out if they can't.

I took it in twice during the 90 days. It's not like they fixed it in July & then it broke again. It has never worked.
Shoot I don't know what your rights are within the law. It's definitely been more than 90 days but if it never worked there may have been something you could do about it in terms of a refund...I just don't know if too much time has passed.

Keep in mind 75% of my opinion comes from watching court shows where the fact that someone waited so long to take serious action tends to lose them the case (even if they were potentially in the right)...so that's really all I know.

IMO you can try one last time to appeal to their kindess, but I would just chalk it up and not go back sad.gif

I don't want to take any kind of legal action. Mostly I just wondered if I was being a wimp to just let it go. The shop is this little family owned place. I don't feel like they were screwing me over. They just really couldn't figure out what is wrong. With getting my car there being such a PITA I do just want to give up & stick with opening my door. I've gotten good at swiping in the parking garage through the door.

I understand that if a mechanic can't figure it out they really can't take the loss of all the time spent. I guess I thought they would atleast meet me in the middle & refund part of the labor expenses.

With my next car, the first time an automatic window breaks I'm getting hand cranks installed.

That sucks Morgan. I've had some crappy mechanic issues over the last year or so too. Along with my sister- she paid $85 for a diagnostic and they solved the problem by rubbing grease on something. Huh!? $85 for what? She even paid for a rental car for them to take a look at it and then when she got it back, it was still having problems. She had to pay for a 2nd rental car to have them look at it again and this time they charged her $150.

I think they take advantage of women. Hard core. Finally my dad went with my sister and they stopped charging her to fix the problem she had already paid to get fixed.

The motor in my Honda broke one year. It's a common problem with Honda's apparently. So it's not the motor that's broken?

nope I had the motor replaced about 4 years ago. This is another part. I've heard there are 4 seperate parts that can break in the window.

funny story about that. I was working at the county health department. It was right across the street from a mexican restaurant. The radio station was giving away a prize every week of a limo ride & lunch at that restaurant. We thought it would be hilarious to win, so we entered & won. The limo picked us up & drove us across the street for lunch.

I took advantage of having a ride to lunch that day & dropped my car off to get the motor replaced on my window. So after lunch the limo dropped me off at the car place.

It was a tacky orange limo too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
