July '08 NEWLYWEDS chat!

Recommended Posts

booked 4 hair appts, cut, hair trial, partial foil, and day of styling! yay!

bought a couple of OOT gifts for our cabo guests, and found aqua colored plastic tumblers from target, 6/$1.99! i need to get a paint pen and DIY like morgan's, very cute!

so proud of myself, i'm just about done with all the printing parts of my BFW invites, we got the wallet size pics from the photog on saturday (unexpectedly early!) and i just have to print up the map/directions jason is designing for me on the insert cards, cut out all the inserts (less than an hours work), and stuff my invites and mail! pretty much done with that, i'm thinking we'll mail them out by friday, latest! woohoo!

started on my boarding pass invites, for our cabo guests, but i need to re-do it in powerpoint, so much easier. having trouble getting the palm tree font that i want to print out.. oh well, i'll figure it out!

i still have so much to do but nearing the end of the invite process feel REALLY good, like i'm actually accomplishing something! those were the only time sensitive things on the list, the rest doesnt matter WHEN it gets done, as long as it gets done before july 11!

i picked out my ring months and months ago, but my FI procrastinated even though i kept telling him the price of gold was going up and up and up. i bought his wedding band back in february for $300. when we originally picked our rings, his band only cost $250. well, my FI waited way too long and now the original band i wanted is $650. so the ring i ordered is a less nice version of the original ring i picked at a very fractional price of the original ring. we will see how it looks when it arrives, but im just glad to have A ring to put on on my wedding day! if the ring arrives and i hate it, a friend offered to get me my ring at wholesale from a friend who works in a diamond district. i plan to upgrade my wedding band immediately after the wedding if the one that we just ordered is suitable as a placeholder. i am just so annoyed he didnt get his shit together and order my ring when it was cheaper, and that he had saved more money in case of unexpected expenses. doh.gif

Oh i know how you feel! I had to keep buging my FI to get our rings! espically since we are paying for the wedding it is like pay check to pay check so mise well get the 'important' stuff out of the way!

Boys are stupid sometimes! and yet you can't wait to marry him! lol

haha i know. i asked him yesterday when he was going to get my ring because i spent all afternoon yesterday looking for a suitable cheaper substitute to the real ring, and was like "dont you want to marry me?" and he sat down and plunked in his credit card number right then & there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
