I keep thinking I've made up my mind not to, but I can't decide if I should hire a videographer. I don't know if I'd like watching a video of myself. I find them a little uncomfortable to watch sometimes. Also, I'm worried I'll feel weird with a camera man following us. I know we'll be relaxed with our photographer, but will the video make us more tense? I hate when someone pulls out a camcorder at Christmas. I can't relax knowing it's being recorded.

But, there are people who can not attend the wedding so a video might be really important. I know his grandparents would want to see it. Now my grandma might have to cancel her trip.

I do have a small camcorder, but I know sound will not be good. And the person filming won't be a pro so it might not be good quality.

I really can't decide. I can afford it, but I don't like spending big chunks of cash. But, if this video will become something I'll cherish the rest of my life and watch when I'm 70 I'd hate to skip it.

Morgan, I think you should video it!!! I love watching wedding videos of my friends weddings becuase you get to relive the moments in a very different way than form pictures. I think wedding videos are hilarious in theory. It will be a great way to share with your grandparents AND a great way to relive the moments for years to come. I don;t think you'll regret it at all!!!

it isn't just money though. I don't want us to feel awkward on our wedding day. did the camera make anyone feel nervous? or are you in such a blur you don't notice?

Morgan when I was getting ready to pick videographer or not, I spoke with a good friend and she said having one is essential. They pull out the video on their anniversary and look forward to showing their daughter the video one day.

It is a great way to capture the memory. Also she said that so much happened that she didn't remember, but was captured on film. Also, they captured moments the photographer missed.

I think it would be great for your children too. I wish I had a video of my parents wedding. How fun that would be!! I have heard your ceremony is such a whirlwind you don't remember it at all because of all the emotions going on. If you don't feel comfy watching it you dont have to :) I say go for it... It only happens once.

Morgan, I REALLY think you will regret it if you do not do the video, for multiple reasons.

Im like you, I dont like to be center stage for videos...we have been on so many trips and we video everything BUT US.

Seriously though, you shouldnt even know that it is there b/c you will be so caught up in the day..

And if you hate it, just dont pass it out to anyone..but get it anyway so you dont regret it in the future!

GET THE VIDEO!

I can't tell you how many girls on here I've heard say they regret not having video. I've never heard someone say "Man that video was a stupid idea. I've never watched it and it made me feel stupid".

I didn't really ever notice it the day of. You'll be so wrapped up in everything else it won't matter. Just make sure your videographer and photographer get their details worked out, and let your videographer know your photos are your priority (if that's the case) so he's not in the way of your good ceremony shots...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
