I have no idea you can probably contact the person that will rent you the sound system and ask him! But I think it wont be a problem!

That was a great and candid review! I am actually pretty excited about using the IPOD and Mijares. I never thought to ask him to bring his own IPOD. I wonder... just in case.

It's been soooo much fun going through various song lists and picking our favorites. I will definately take heed to your suggestions and run the final ideas/length of playlist by Mijares.

I really think its better with the profesional speakers, beacuse they will give you a good quality sound like a real DJ and will set people on a mood for dancing, but you can try that option also, I dont know how small your party will be maybe if they are a very fiew people it would be to much sound.

One of my BM's works at Plantronics and they make Ipod portable speakers. I think we are going to get the IM7 that plays the ipod. We figure its better to pay for the system and keep it rather than get a DJ. The good news is that you can also buy a microphone to attach to the speaker for speeches at the reception. Here is some advice from a guy who specializes in the audio section. Here is the company link Plantronics Home Page

Glad to answer your questions. It is possible to plug a microphone into the Aux-in jack on either the iM9 or iM7. But it needs to be the right kind of microphone -- must have a 3.5mm jack (or use of an adapter to get to 3.5mm) and the microphone must NOT require an electric current (must be a dynamic mic.) We have not tested this, but on paper this should work.

Which is better? Depends on the use. The iM7 puts out more sound and it has a built-in sub woofer, so you get natural, rich low frequencies. And the configuration of the speakers provides a wider sound Field (more room-filling sound). But it is not quite as transportable as the iM9. The iM9 sounds really great -- that is REALLY great! -- for a portable speaker system. It is designed to be more rugged for lots of travel. It does a pretty good job of filling a room with sound, but the sound field (the area of the sound source) is tighter than the iM7. The iM9 will charge and sync the iPod -- it likely that the user could locate the iM9 next to the computer. The iM7 will charge the iPod, but does not have sync'ing capability. The iM7 is truly an iPod sound system where the iM9 offers more flexibility of use with the iPod.

Hope this is helpful.

We got the bose sound dock for x-mas and are planning on taking it down for our reception. We are having 30-40 people and think it will work out great. I am not concerned about the microphone since our group is small. I will let you know if 5 months how it works out!

If the speakers are from a standard dj's equipment you can use any mp3 player provided that there is the av output/input. Always check with the rental company since I think they come in different sizes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
