No way! I was there last January for a wedding too. Honestly I'm not big on Vegas but I like to eat and drink so it works. We always drive since it is so close but this time we are flying - woohoo! No 2 lane highway of death for us this time :o)

I'm still down for a socal BDW meet-up there sometime :)

IMO:

Wynn: Hands down my absolute favorite. I've stayed in different rooms and they're all great. I think they have the best service out of all the hotels in LV ie.white glove doorman. Most comfortable beds. Little flat screen in bathroom.

Cesars: Rooms were nice, new tower is modern looking but not as nice as the Wynn. Service is so so. Best shopping here. I don't gamble here I never win.

Bellagio: Didn't like the room decor. Atmosphere is not exciting for me. Great sightseeing place.

Venetian: Gotta love their 24 hour jacuzzi. All rooms are suites, great for bachelorette parties.

Mandalay bay: Very classy, nice rooms. Crowd a little too old for me. This is my mom's favorite. End of the strip, not convenient to hotel hop. Rum jungle (club/lounge),haven't been there in awhile but it was always a good place to start the night.

MGM: Used to like it but way too smoky for me now. Rooms can use a little renovation.

Treasure Island: If standard room then its very basic. Just to change/shower kind of place. They usually have good deals with their rooms. One of the better suites I've stayed in. One of the suites had 2 separate bathrooms.

I've never stayed in Downtown but I love it, it is so cheesy. I love gambling down there.

Posting an update...

Stayed at the MGM Grand a few weeks ago. It is massive and has some good restaurants. Our room was huge and had 2 showers which was cool (it was a suite, forget which one?). The staff were all exceptionally courteous and helpful. It's on the monorail stop which can come in handy.

This is the only Vegas hotel to have airport check-in where you can get your room keys while you wait for your luggage. I'd stay here again.

Here's another update...

Golden Nugget - stayed there for the first 3 nights of our trip - awesome - it's a beautiful hotel and casino, the pool is great, the service was great, the food was great, everything was awesome - the only thing i didn't like was the location - so not a fan of downtown vegas, much preferred the strip

The Flamingo - meh...not bad but not great - everything was dated and the fans outside our room on the roof below were sooooo loud they kept us up at night. it was clean and a great location though!

Hard rock Cafe - way too crowded

The Hotel - Absolutely awesome place to stay. The best room service in town!

Bellagio - Loved the Cabanas by the pool!

The Palms - Lot of young people, good looking people!

MGM - It was OK. Nothing really stood out for me.

For our Sept 2008 wedding at Lake Las Vegas Resort we have booked at the new Trump hotel which is near the Fashion Mall and across from the Wynn from what I understand. It just opened in March so I have no idea what it is like. I believe it is an all suite hotel...rooms all have kitchenettes and the best thing that I liked is that there is no casino on site and it is a non-smoking hotel. During prior stays at other Vegas hotels the smoke fumes that hit you as soon as you hit the main areas is nauseating. For my wedding night and the few days we will be there before we leave for the Hawaii honeymoon I prefer not to be in a hotel crowded with gamblers. I figure we can easily walk to plenty of nearby hotel casinos if we desire.

We are staying one night at the Ritz Carlton the day before the wedding as it is near the Chapel at Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, NV where we are getting married. They are providing a late check out and the concierge has been great with assisting me with finding transportation for guests and other things.

In June I am going with a girlfriend of mine to scope out the places in person since I chose everything online and I am doing cake tastings. We are staying at THE MIRAGE. UPDATE: Just got back from stay at the Mirage and it was really nice. The bed was amazing...I wrote the hotel to find out what kind of bedding they used. It was the most comfy bed I have ever been in. The room was very modern and had a LCD TV. The food options there were a lil too fancy for me. We did the Brazilian restaurant one day, the buffett and a cafe another day. The other places the food was too high and fancy. Free valet parking. They have a clothing optional or topless pool called Bare and a habitat with tigers, lions, dolphins etc. The Habitat had baby tigers they were so cute.

In the past, I have stayed at

Planet Hollywood - we went last April and it was nice...our room was nothing special but nice...they were just changing over from it being the Aladdin so not sure if rooms have been upgraded since we were there. The casino was always high energy while we were there, we barely walked into the hotel lobby from the airport and we were signed up to go listen to a timeshare presentation for the Planet Hollywood timeshares. We went and got a free show, free dinner and a free hotel stay to go listen to another timeshare spiel.

Venetian - I stayed for a week for a prior conference for my job. I was in a suite and it was nice. I am not big on that Parisian style decor ...I prefer modern/contemporary but it was nice. The bathroom was all marble but I remember the tub being pretty small...but then again I am 6ft. There were nice places to eat within the hotel. The smoke was unbearable. The Chapel was quaint.

Has anyone stayed at Mirage?? That is where we are staying in August . . . I do know that the Volcano and that is all under construction but I'm not too concerned about that. I will be enjoying the pool not the front of the hotel. Any advice or concerns let me know . . . I still have time to rebook a different hotel. I've also considered Flamingo as well. Originally we wanted TI but the pool atmosphere doesn't look all that appetizing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
