Ok, I'm not very good at DIY stuff, but this forum has been great! I bought a heat gun to make center piece candels like in this thread...

I bought the heat gun for the SOLE purpose of doing this to candels LOL

I've read about Embrossing...so, I went to Michaels today, got an embrossing in pad a sand dollar stamp and a sea shell stamp and some card stock and made these papers...

Embossing powders are powders that you heat up to give an image a raised, glossy look and feel.

Here is a link to a site where you can purchase the powders (you can get them at craft stores too!) Embossing: Accessories: Online Catalog: The Stampin' Place: Rubber Art-Stamps, Accessories & Custom

Have you thought about making petal or confetti cones? The guests throw them at you as you walk down the aisle, it's an alternative to rice or bubbles.

Alyee form the knot has a template on her page. They are super easy. I'll post a pic when I find one.

I think I am going to do these. You can punch the holes out but leave them flat, and assemble when you get there. It will add some pizazz to the chairs and all you need to assemble is some ribbon, tape and scissors!

Sorry, I postd the first post and then had to run out...

Erin, I LOVE the cones on the chairs, if I have the time, energy and FI doesn't kill me, I soooo might do it!!!! The resort supplies white folding chairs for teh ceremony...so the cones hanging on them would look really cute!

Andi, it was really really easy to do! I read this Heat Embossing - How to Emboss and this How to Emboss: Using embossing powder, heat guns, stampers last night and then I went out today got the ink pad, two stamps, the powder and the paper to play with it. I tried a few out on regular white paper first, but it didn't come half as good as the card stock.

Oh, and in my first post, I said I did a pic of my sister...I did two, one had my sister and her dog, the other was of my two dogs...apparently I posted the pic of my two dogs LOL

Now I'm trying to think of things to use embossed paper for...any suggestions? LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
