Contacting Chandlyn

Recommended Posts

I tried contacting Chandlyn about some questions (which I got answered anyways by reading this forum) and I got an email back from Vanessa saying that Chandlyn would contact me 1-2 months before my wedding.

My question to you ladies is: Are you worried that you will not be able to get your requested dinner location/reception location if you share your special wedding day with other brides? How do they go abouts that, is it first come first pick sort of thing (whoever talks to Chandlyn ahead of time and plans this? or ?)

I am extremely worried that I will not be able to not get my requested dinner and reception location and that is just all part of my special day!

Also, is there ANY way to get in contact with her prior to the 1 or 2 months before my wedding date or do I really just need to wait till then to make my dinner and reception requests?worried2.gif

Hmm... I have emailed Chandlyn several times now and she has always answered and been very friendly. It usually takes about 2 weeks, which from what I heard on hear was pretty normal. I tried to keep them short and sweet ... mostly just asking to reserve my dinner reception and getting her verification of different prices. I haven't heard back from my most recent question to her (about a week ago) so maybe they are changing their email policy... or maybe since my wedding is a few months before yours they are being more lenient?

I'm sure it's b/c she is overwhelmed, especially with it being high wedding season at the moment and she doesn't have any help. I don't know when she has time to respond to emails at all! When i was there I saw her leave every night at 11pm or later and then she was back the next morning at 9am.

It could also be that your wedding is a year away and policies, etc may change by next April so maybe she is reluctant to confirm details this far in advancehuh.gif If you already know where you want your reception and its somewhere other than Mammee Bay (which is where all wedding receptions are automatically booked for) you might just email them back and make that specific request.

Ohh I didnt know that dinners are automatically booked for Mammee Bay- which is great cause thats where I want to have it! I was also thinking about afterwards whether or not I would get my after location like the disco or seagrape....

Thanks, I guess I will have to wait...blah! I just want to get stuff done, which I guess its still sooo far away! :)

I emailed as well and got the same response as you did from Valeria. I have a few questions about flowers & cakes and didn't want to wait until 2 months prior to the wedding to make certain decisions. I did find some pics here of flowers but nothing on the cakes. Hang in there!

i will agree with twelvepiece.... Chandalyn and/or valeria will respond to any questions you have.. It normally takes about 2 weeks... I assume they will begin to respond to inquiries quicker as your date approaches. I just changed from the beach to the beach gazebo for my cermony and Chandalyn responded w/in 2 weeks.

also some other things other brides may need to know:

-The resort will accept wedding supplies to be shipped prior to your arrival. chandalyn states that 2 weeks is typically sufficient and she will personally take responsibility for your items.

-You can transfer your ceremony flowers to the reception site and then to dinner at Mammee Bay at no additional charge.

-I plan leaving welcome bags in my guests rooms prior to arrival and chandalyn states that she and Valeria can assist w/ making sure these bags are securely placed in guests rooms (30+ people)

Hope this helps..

This was my free cake. I brought the flowers from home (silk) and asked Chandlyn to have them placed on the cake. I had a choice of white or chocolate cake, i chose white cake and it had a strawberry and cream filling. My cake was 3 layers but some girls have had 2 layers. I don't know what the deciding factor is- maybe your guest count... I had 25 and it was enough for everyone.

As for flowers, Tai Flora does all the flowers and they are VERY slow to respond and the prices are quite high- IMHO. The flowers in my siggy are bouquets that I asked them for price quotes on and they were all between $100-$300.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
