My guests are already making reservations!

Recommended Posts

I didn't think that reality would hit this soon!! My travel agent had some special rates for our resort that expire on this Friday, and with that being said...We went ahead and sent our STD's so that our guests could save some $$$$$!! I think that we were thinking that about 15-16 people would actually make it, but we already have 16 people that have made their reservations!! We found that most of our guests are making this into a "vacation" while they are at it! So this means more $$ for our reception, more $$ for the OOT bags...etc.! I hope that none of you under estimate your guest list like we have!!!! Not upset, just surprised actually...and will be re working our budget!!!!

Oh how exciting. Your lucky you have good little guests that actually get the booking thing done. Some brides are having some issues with this. I am definitly underestimating how many people will actually go, we will probably send out 75 invites and I'm really hoping the actual number will stay under 30.

I'm sure you will find a way to make it happen in your budget, these things always seem to work out in the end.

OH NO! Don't underestimate your guest list! I learned the hard way! All of the guest that were invited but were put on the negative side to attend are ALL coming! We have guest that have verbally commited, just haven't follow through yet!(If they don't book by friday, then they have to pay full price!)

Oh geez your making me nervous. lol. I'm just afraid 1. Dont want to hurt anyones feelings by not inviting them and 2. What if I only invite 30 people and 5 people end up booking.

Maybe I should be rethinking this. Hmmm, I should probably really sit down with Ryan and devise a guest list and then start cutting it back a little.

We sent out about 55 STD's, so about 110 guests. There are a lot of ppl we sent them to that we know will not come. And then there is a large group of people that we knew would really want to come but we weren't sure. So far the majority of our friends have said they're definetly coming, but haven't booked yet, at least not through our TA. My family will be done booking this week and then FI's family needs to do theres. So we originally thought we wouldn't have more than 20, now its looking more like 30, and those are just the people we've seen and talked to!

This is great news!!! At least people are coming to your wedding. I sent out 75 STDs and I am guess that only 25 will come. Although when I was doing my budget planning I did budget for 45 people. I didn't want any surprises. Now you just need to recalculate your budget and see where you can cut costs.

Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to make you nervous.....It was just a total surprise to hear that so many people ARE coming! And most of them are the ones that we least expected!!! It really is something that everyone should consider into their budget because now our budget is doable, but tight!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
