I just joined the BDW biggest loser too! Need motivation, I thought seeing the ticker at 6 months would motivate me, but not yet.

Our colors are apple and fuchsia. Just decided on those about a month ago. Do you know what you want?

Oh, that sounds pretty!!

I've been struggling with color because I really love purple. But not so much the tropical shades of purple....I love plums and aubergines...and I was struggling with such a deep, fall color at a tropical wedding. We're getting married in a garden overlooking the ocean, so it will be very colorful with the green grass and the turqouise water. I'd like something that would contrast the green and the blue. So...I'm thinking of still going with a deep purple but having really bright colored bouquets with some orange in them. I think orange or a berry color would be really pretty against the blue and green but most of my girls wouldn't want to wear something that bright. So, I'm thinking of a more muted color with bright accents...

Have you picked your bridesmaids dresses yet?

Hi Opice34.. I was dead set on getting a Winnie Couture gown.. I even posted a thread about it awhile back :)

All their dresses look so gorgeous on the website.. I originally wanted the Kestrel design from the 2006 destination wedding collection.. heh

We didn't have any bridal shops where I am that sold Winnie Couture, so I made a weekend out of going to the states and going to a bridal salon that was having a trunk show of all the Winnie Couture dresses in the 2008 collection!

Long story short, I didn't end up getting one but I really love all the designs.. they are fabulous! I hope you find one that looks fantastic on you :) I'm pretty sure I tried on the dress that you are thinking of..

I'm actually more behind than all of you... so far we've only booked our trip and sent STDs....
I'm hoping to get my invites mailed out in the beginning or at least by the middle of June, and we requested the reply by August 15.

I honestly wanted to wear my trusty SPANX to go dress shopping, but I'm sure that'd be a little weird!!

Do you have your colors picked out?
Ummm...I wore my Spanx..wanted to be able to fit my hips thru those size 8dresses they think everyone can fit in! My sister was basically tucking my fat in the dresses while we were trying on. I just laughed with it. We had a fun time. Good Luck

opice my colors well I think my colors are going to be turquoise and lime green like my siggy. I love blues and i wanted bright colors. But i think the purple or orange you were talking about would look great for a DW, you don't have to go a tropical color route.

I'm going to try to make my invites and get them out by end of May. I'm not going to send RSVP cards, all of the guest that are most likely going already booked. Maybe i'll do a RSVP on our wedding website.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
