What kind of reception did you have? And how many people came to your wedding? Thanks so much, I don't know why I didn't utilize this forum earlier.
My mom and her friend do silk flowers and they did it for me. I just showed them pics of stuff I liked and they made it in silk from real touch flowers. Here is the bouquet they made for me: Click the image to open in full size.
If you're interested in silk, PM me and I'll give you their contact info.

I had the free reception at Mammee Bay, the free cake, and the 2 free bottles of champaign for the toast. We had 25 people total and there was plenty of everything. Chandlyn told me that each bottle would pour 7 glasses, but i just the waiter not to fill everyones glass all the way to the top. I think it was only like $10 for additional bottles, but a lot our guests aren't champaign drinkers anyway so i didn't see the point.

We rented the disco for 2 hours, which was last minute decision and was worth the money. We had a really good time.

No, I looked at the 2008 Free Wedding package. Maybe it's less expensive if you get another package?

You can really customize the wedding packages at the ROR to suit your budget! We were fairly budget-conscious but did splurge on some items (gazebo decorations mostly!), here is a rough breakdown of what I did:

Civil Ceremony: $200

Hair and Makeup: $140ishhuh.gif

Upgraded decorations - beach gazebo (See pic): $412

Aisle Runner: $45

Aisle Markers - I had 4 of them: $85 each

Bridesmaid Bouquets: $90

Steel drum band: I think I paid $250 but it might have been $350 - didnt get an itemized receipt

2 bottles of Champagne and Rum Punch for all guests: FREE

Reception Dinner at Mammee Bay Steakhouse: FREE

Cake: FREE and DELICIOUS!

Disco Rental: $250

Photography (used Michael) including and extra hour, 100 pics on CD and the DVD by videographer:

$1120ish...

Total approximate: $2867 ish...!! :) Worth every penny!!

I agree! This thread is great! FI and I were talking about our budget tonight and we were trying to figure out what we want for the ceremony and reception. We are trying to keep that cost down because we are planning on paying for accomodations and flight for the maid of honor and the best man. We are planing to stay 9-10 nights, so the bulk of our money is going to be spent on travel!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
