Receptions at the RIU??

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any pictures, comments on the types of receptions the RIU Palace offers? I know that there is the semi private reception on the terrace but has anyone had a private one on the beach? Poolside? I was thinking about doing a buffet style on the beach but need some input. Please share! Thanks.....

I am getting married at the Riu Palace Los Cabos on May 24th....I think I am going to do my reception on the terrace of the Mexican restaurant. Because isn't there an extra fee for setting up somewhere else besides a restaurant?

Also, what about your ceremony? I canâ€t decide! I had my heart set on the beach, but the gazebo is really nice! Suggestionshuh.gif?

Hi,

I am booked for October. At first I decided i wanted a beach ceremony but then after i saw the pictures i went with the Gazebo...

Yes, there is an extra fee of 500$ for a private reception. When do you need to tell them where you are going to have your reception, May 24th is comign up so soon!

Has anyone out there rented out the entire San Jose restaruant for their reception? Any info regarding this restaurant would be apprecitated! Thanks.....

jennyle0082,

when are you getting married in October? I'm getting married there October 11th. Have you been able to get any feedback from Daniela? I got a couple of formal emails from her initially but nothing since. Have you been able to contact her okay?

charylwood,

I've been to the Riu Palace before and when I was there the beach was really rocky and hurt to walk on. I decided that I wanted to get married in the gazebo because of that. Not sure if that matters to you or not but I thought I would pass on the info just incase!!

I didn't really think about the rocks! I was planning on getting married on the beach. I wonder if we can decide that when we get down there a few days priorhuh.gif I'm just now trying to figure out all these details, and I feel a bit in the dark since the WC is not getting back to me.

I know how you feel!! The WC wasn't getting back to me either. The last email I sent I mentioned that I had sent her this particular email 3 times and hadn't gotten a response and I copied the Riu WC for all of Mexico and she finally emailed me back. But from what I hear you basically plan everything when you get there which is why they aren't super responsive. If you want something in particular they want to know a week or two in advance but other than that you can do most things when you get there-at least that is what I've been told. When I went to the beach is was very rocky but that was three years ago, things could be different now.

I disagree with this and wouldn't wait until the last minute to plan everything. The cake and the type of flowers that you're getting can be planned at the last minute, but everything else should be arranged before that. I would express concern and they should be able to help you. Erika at the Riu Santa Fe always got back to me and addressed every concern I had.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
