I was wondering because it is so windy on the beach (from what past brides have said) is anyone still considering using some sort of candle in their centerpiece or is this even feasible?? Any input would be great. Thanks!

we had our reception on the terrace, so I don't know if its the same on the beach, but I had small square votive holders, with tealights in them, and they wouldn't stay lit at all.

I would assume its windy at the beach too only because that whole side of the resort by the tower is really windy. When you walk down the walkway to the tower building you get hit with wind, when you lay by the pool by the tower its windy (which is really nice when you're really hungover and don't want to get too hot, lol)

I have been wondering about this as well!

I have heard many brides say "it was really windy that time of year" - is there a time of year that it is not as windy? I am thinking about getting married there late April...

Or is it windy at dusk, and then the wind dies down??

And I was also thinking about having candles on my tables at the beach, tealights in "sheltered" holders and/or hurricanes - any other past brides have experience with this?

I wouldn't even be SO disappointed to find out that my candles won't stay lit, but would hate to hear that the wind was so much that it interfered with the fun of the festivities!

I feel like this is hard to explain. It is very windy, but it's not really annoying windy or windy where it will ruin your wedding, it's just breezy I guess, lol!

It's so hard for me to describe to you because the wind didn't really bother us too much, yes I had a few stray pieces of hair that I wished were pinned down better because they were blowing in my face, but it was so hot that the wind was actually a nice relief.

I know this probably makes no sense, but you'll know what I mean when you get there.

We tried to have a unity candle during our beach ceremony at Dreams PV and even though we used a hurricane holder (glass holder that completely surrounded the candle) we could not get the candle to stay lit. So after several attempts, we just skipped this part of the ceremony and moved on. We didn't miss it at all!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
