haha unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I didn't have a drop of alcohol that night since I was struggling with my sickness so I have no excuse for that picture. If I was drunk, it would have showed though. I would have looked like I was seizing instead.

I'd LOVE to go back and have a few drinks and get down on the beach. It was so fun so I could only imagine how much more fun it would be if I weren't trying to forget I was sick. I totally just put on my happy face and forced myself to have a great time. I'm glad I did and didn't allow myself to be a whiney baby like I normally am when sick.

Awww...thanks Melissa. I just wish I wouldn't have hiked my dress up like that while walking down the aisle. I was so worried about falling down the stairs, I guess I forgot to drop it back down. Oh well- at least my feet are cute. haha

I hope to get my pro pics soon! The contract says 3 weeks (which will be this THURS!) but I haven't heard from my photog even though I emailed her like a week and a half ago. I'm not going to hold my breathe that they will be here soon. I will still continue to check my email 50 times per day though.

I really wanted to thank everyone for their nice comments. I know I had said this before in another thread, but I had planned on loosing a bunch of weight before the wedding- obviously that never happened. I have been really insecure about my weight- I've gained like 50lbs (probably more) in the last 5 years and I have no idea why. I will be seeing a doctor soon because my mom and sister have been diagnosed with thyroid problems. Their doctor thinks I have the same problem- we shall see.

Anyways, it means a lot to me to read everyone's nice compliments. My weight was probably one of the hardest things I have had to deal with during the planning of the wedding. While I felt beautiful the day of the wedding, I have a hard time looking at pictures. I'm excited to see the pro pics, but also a little scared. In the meantime, thanks for all the compliments.

Rachel I wanted to come to this thread when I had the time to give it the dedication it deserves. The pics are awesome, I love them! You look absolutely beautiful and I am not just saying that, I truly feel that way. You radiated happiness and that is what makes a bride the prettiest she can be.

I can completely understand feeling insecure about your weight and wearing a bridal gown but I have to tell you that you picked one that flattered you beautifully. You look absolutely stunning and your hair was perfection! I heart the earrings btw, they are fabulous.

I'm so glad you had a wonderful wedding and I love the commentaries on your pics. I have no doubt that your pro pics will be amazing and will capture the beauty that you radiated that day. smile159.gif

Rachel, I have never seen photos of any celebration ever where people, including you, had more genuine or brighter smiles! You looked beautiful and fabulous and best and most important of all you radiated happiness and so did your groom and your guests!

I'm glad you "felt beautiful" on your wedding day because you most definitely looked it. I know everyone struggles looking at pictures of themselves because you zone in on what you don't like, but take those scrutiny goggles off when you look at your pictures again -- go see what everyone else is seeing! It's too beautiful and fun to miss!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
