I've gotten a response from Michael, Riu's Photographer

oh Heidi. That sounds fantastic. Robin did a mini-bd shoot for you? How awesome is that! I couldn't have it after my WD though. I would look like a bloated pufferfish after all that food.

I just received the following email from the photographer I (and three others while I was at ROR) hired & brought to Jamaica with me...

Hey honey! Just walked in my door - I need for you to make a post on the BDW forum to warn all girls that are planning on bringing in outside photog & any destination wedding photogs that have weddings booked there.

I have never in my life been as scared as I was yesterday evening (my last night at the resort) - the goons at the Photoshop had one of the bellboys come threaten me during (another bride's) reception in the disco. He was trying to pull me out, demanding my room #, etc. Was so glad it was my last day there & would be leaving this am. I am going to lodging a formal complaint with the main office of the RIU, and so is the bride - she was livid!!!

I'll also put out there that we had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEMS AT ALL with Michael or Photoshop. We booked a FREE package - and Michael is not notified of those weddings. HOpefully, if you book the free package and bring an outside photographer nobody will bother you...

Ooh thats kinda scary. He has no right to do that.

OMG!!!!! This is horrible! At least I have a letter from Riu headquarters stating that I can have my "friend", who will be a guest at the hotel take photos and won't be responsible for paying the $200 fee.

I'm worried about Yolanda & 12 piece.......i hope it wasn't their ceremony that the photographer was referencing.

OMG, that's so scary! I'm glad nothing bad happened to Robin. RIU really needs to do something about this ridiculous policy!

i had a bad feeling about this.......Robin is probably VERY recognizable by now at the Photoshop, so alot of brides can't continue to say that she is a family friend, if the photoshop guys always see her at other weddings. I can't believe that she was threatened that way!

I swear ... if I have one problem (after getting plenty of assurances from Chandlyn that everything will be fine) they will see a "special" bridezilla appearance. I may kick Michael's bum myself!

Don't get me wrong - I'm not typically a violent person, but I've put too much emotion, work, etc into this wedding to someone cause this kind of drama ... we'll see! :-)

AlmostMrsForbes: You are using Brian right? Did they tell you that you have to pay a breach of contract fee? I really like his work and am looking forward to using him. Let me know how it all goes!

I've been reading through this thread and thought ahh its all worked out and then i read the last couple of posts and i thought WTF!

He is going to end up picking on the wrong bride and groom and they are going to lay him out and rightly so!! He wants to be careful because he will end up losing his contract if brides stop going there! I can't believe it lol

drbrainfreeze - yes, we are using brian nejedly. we are supposed to pay a $200 breach of contract fee to michael. i have it in writing from both he and chandlyn that this will be accepted.

i don't agree with paying the breach of contract fee because i have no contract for photography with michael or the riu, but was going to do it to make life easier ...
