We have also been to Paradisus Rio de Oro for my fiance's best friend's wedding. It was amazing, we are going to be going there for the second week of our stay. The only reason we chose Occidental was because it was cheaper than Paradisus otherwise we would have gladly gotten married at PRDO. Feel free to ask me any questions and I'll try to answer them.
Have you been to PT yet? I was thinking about that place as well, but I could not find many reviews on it, so I was a little scared (wedding reviews that is). Tell me about it.

What are you getting Married?

Well, we are not moving till March, our closing date is March 9, so we will move in on March 10. I need to start packing soon though, I like to get things done well in advance so I am not panicking a week before moving day. We did have our home inspection on Friday though and it went great, so the deal is accepted and we are buying it for sure. I am so excited. I have a few pics of the inside only, I will post them when I get a chance.

We are getting married at OGPT in July. OMG I just realized that in almost five months I am getting married! smile159.gif I haven't been there yet, we decided on it because my friend had gotten engaged there and she loved it. There don't seem to be any wedding reviews but I know someone getting married there in February so hopefully she'll be able to tell me all about it. We also stopped by there when we were in Cuba the last time and the resort looked amazing. We will likely be getting the free wedding as it looks like we'll have 20 people going with us. We do know all about PRDO though if you have any questions about it, we stayed there for a week for a wedding.

PDRO is too pricey I think. We want something cheaper for our guests. We also need a place that we can have kids and with stuff for kids to do.

I want to hear all about your friend's wedding, I want to see pics too, if possible. When in Feb is she getting married?

I stayed at the Playa Turquesa 2 years ago but this is what a remember.

-the grounds are huge, safe & clean. there are lots of banana trees which I thought was pretty cool.

-I ate at the Italian, Chinese, Cuban & Seafood restaurant. The Italian restaurant was the worst, me & my FI walked out after the appetizer to eat at the buffet. The Chinese restaurant was good, no complaints. The Cuban restaurant was my favorite for both the food and ambiance. The restuarant is outside in a little court yard. I don't remember the seafood restaurant but I remember that ambiance was nice as well.

-lots of pools. we mostly hung out by the one with the waterfall. at the top of the waterfall the water is a bit deeper. I'm 5'1 (shorty!) and not really a swimmer. I had to tippy toe to get to the swimm up bar. Unfortunatly, there was a problem with the pool heaters the week we were there but the water was still warm and cooling at the same time.

-there were lots of families there so I'm sure your guests with kids will have lots to do.

-lots of stairs. bring comfortable shoes.

-the beach was beautiful but rocky. In the morning me and my FI would walk along the beach to pick up some shells...aww the memories!

-after dinner me and FI would hang out at the 24hr bar. they have really good cappaccinos! it was a good way to start a night of partying!

-if you don't want to go into town usually once a week or more some vendors will set up shop on the resort for you or your guests to do their shopping.

Ok, sorry so long. I guess I remember more than I thought. If you want to know more just let me know. I am more than happy to help.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
