Cruise Ship Passangers at Dreams

Recommended Posts

I was on Tripadvisor today trying to narrow down the resort we want to have our wedding at. Dreams is one of the top choices...but then I read this in the forums:

Puerto Vallarta forum: Cruise Ship Crowds at Dreams - TripAdvisor

Has anyone else heard of or experienced this? They say in the thread that one of the cruise lines offers Dreams as a day trip.

If this is true how do you think, for those that have been married there, it would effect a wedding.

I read that too, someone posted a review about it too, i think. I wouldn't worrie about it. I love trip advisor but know how those people can be (complaining about everything)!! So I only thing on it, it must not be a big deal. Who goes on a cruise to buy a day pass at a resort anyway? They mostly go to town and do excursions.

So on another note, I am tinking of Dreams too for my wedding next May, I've e-mailed the coordinator about 3 times over the past 2 weeks and still haven't heard back! I was going to go to Dreams in Cancun, but my first, second and third choice dates are already booked! I'm getting worried that I haven't heard anything yet. I don't want to get my hopes up again. But it does seem like the one in Cancun does alot more weddings!

Have you heard anything yet?

I haven't written them about dates yet. We are still trying to work with family to figure that out. I was however looking at April and May myself...so I'd be interested to know what you find out.

I did write Deams Cancun for the prices, packages, etc and did hear back from them...but I haven't written PV yet.

The last cruise I went on had a day trip to a resort and we did this as an excursion because we felt like being lazy....to tell you the truth not many people chose this as their excursion....they bus was full but it was only one bus. We all pretty much stayed at the beach or at the pool.

I don't think there will be too many people to make a difference.

Are you talking about May 2009? May I ask what your preferred dates were?? Dreams Cancun is my absolute top choice for May 2009 and I'll be crushed if the dates are already booked!

loeloe,

I'm not sure if the same thing happened to you that happened to me re: hearing back from Dreams. For some reason, my regular email address blocks the Dreams' teams emails. I don't know why...and I didn't get a junk mail notification or anything. Apparently, they had been sending me emails, which they eventually forwarded to my hotmail account right away. Not sure if this is the case for you too.

Are we talking about dreams pv? When I was on a cruise we did a resort excursion too just to be lazy. However, I can't imagine dreams pv being one that they would choose. It's an awful long ways away from the marina. I would think the cruise lines would find a resort a tad closer.

May 14, 15 or 16. I think that they had an afternoon one available still. But I really want a sunset wedding, or pics during the sunset...you know what i mean. I've tried to make myself feel better by telling myself its all for a reason, and that I want to were a vail, and the wind there will not allow me to do that. But I'm still really bummed! If you happened to hear something different let me know. There is always the chance that someone will cancel!

dreams isn't huge - i'd say it depends on when you go. our 2nd to last day was spent w/ a whole planeful of people whose flight was cancelled - we didn't notice them.

gaby can be hard to get a hold of. she is the only wedding coordinator, and she waitresses. keep emailing her; in fact, email daily and 'scream' thru your email until you get a respone. she's really good right before the wedding, but b/c she is SO busy, she puts you on the back burner until your date is closer. she does a lot of weddings there (one per day, max, i believe), but dreams had such a bad reputation for so long, so cancun and cabo are more popular. my review is at the bottom of my siggy - any questions, feel free - there aren't too many dreams pv brides here!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
