Paradisus Riviera Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi-

I am new to this thread and am excited to be here because The Paradisus Rivera is becoming our #1 location for our wedding in Nov. 2008. All of your posts have been SO helpful. I am still looking at the Royal Porto Real too. Did any of you decide between these two? Look forward to chatting with you all soon!

Katy

Hi Katy!!! Welcome to the party!

I looked at Porto Real, but opted for the Paradisus. I just never got the same feel of luxury, secluded, etc., that I didn with the Paradisus. That, and the WC there just never got back to me in a timely fashion.

More news on the DJ front. Elisa confirmed that the only fees are those charged by Swank - so no outside vendor fee. YAY!!!

That being said, I spoke with her - I didn't get it in writing, so I'd suggest sending her an e-mail to make sure the same holds for you.

Thanks so much. I agree the privacy I have seen at the Paradisus is one of the most luxurious things. Thanks!

One more update on the DJ front. I received an e-mail from Elisa (after I spoke with her - she's good that way - everything in writing):

My question:

"Elisa: I sent the note below to Victor at Swank today. Does the Paradisus have any charges other than those listed in the contract with Swank that we would need to pay in order to use an outside DJ?"

Her reply:

"It was a pleasure to talk to you over the phone, there is no extra charge involved. Have a nice day!"

So, there we go - and saving $600 - $1,200 if you were going to have to pay Swank for lighting. Woo hoo!

Katy welcome to the forum! We fell in love with the Paradisus when we saw it for the same reasons Becks mentioned - secluded and classy - my type of wedding resort!

Becks - SOoo glad to hear about Carlos Mania - guess I should email Perla and get that in writing too before we try and make a deal. Glad to hear that this is working out - would it be OK if I referenced your dealings wiht him and the resort in my email?

Can you please give me some advice of the best person/contact information to reach out to at the Paradisus to check date availablitity? I hoping that you can and as soon as I get it, I'll reach out to them. We are looking at early November. I'll let you know once I get a date! This is SO exciting! Many thanks!

I just emailed him to ask about the insurance (assuming it's not a one time thing!)

I also emailed Perla to confirm about the fees - she has been somewhat tardy on her responses so we'll see..

What are you doing about centrepieces? Did you decide or is that part of the site visit?

Hi Katy:

Here are the two e-mail addresses:

Elisa Amora Hernandez: romance.paradisus.riviera.cancun@solmelia.com
Perla Cervantes: guest.paradisus.riviera.cancun@solmelia.com

Frankly, though, if you want it set and settled right away, call. It's ALWAYS faster. +52 998.872.83.83 ext. 8046. This is Elisa's number, and goes to the automated system at the hotel. As soon as they pick up just dial 8046. I usually find it easiest to reach her between 10:30 and 11:30 AM Central time.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
