Grand Total for Riu Ocho Rios Wedding

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies. Just trying to get my budget in order, so what are we looking at here. Subtracting lodging, outside guest passes, wedding site decor/flowers, and airfare, how much would the basic, complete wedding/reception cost. I am planning on having the following for 65 guests:

Free Wedding - $250

Minister & Document Fees - $250

Cake - $250

Private Dinner - $500

Disco - $250

Steel Band play for 1 hour - $350

Grand total so far: $1850

What else am I forgetting?

When you book the "free" wedding, it actually costs $250 (I don't know what this charge is for though). Then the cost for fees is $250 I believe. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I think...

The disco costs $250 for 2 hours and includes dj and open bar. If you have open bar at dinner, there is a $10 charge per person.

so how is this a "free wedding package" when it cost $250huh.gif okay, thanks, i'll update my post with the new figures. So after the ceremony, they serve rum punch and drinks for free......right? I"m trying to decide if I want to add on h'ords or not because I will not have that much of a gap between my ceremony and dinner.

I was under the impression that the free weddings cost $250 because that is the fee paid to the minister!? So I am confused now too!!

Rum punch is free after the ceremony. If you wanted to have some champagne on hand as well that is an extra cost. (I might get some champagne for the wedding party as it will look nice in the pics!)

If you want upgraded decorations to the gazebo or wedding arch, that is an extra cost and it's variable depending on what you want. Also cost for aisle runner and aisle markers if you are interested in those...

The steel band will play when you walk down the aisle. Chandlyn gave me a choice of The Wedding March or Canon in D to walk down the aisle to. If you wanted to request a different song they could probably accomodate you but you might want to check in advance.

The steel band was 250$/hr last year but now it 350$/hr
Someone can correct me if i'm wrong
The $250 is the charge for the "free" wedding. The additional $250 is for the minister and fees. The price of the steel band has gone up in 2008 to $350.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
