At first, Monica indicated that I might have to pay ANOTHER $500 fee for the videographer (who is associated w/ my photographer, mind you), but then she let that drop. But now, she told me that since we will be counting them as our guests in our "free" wedding dinner at El Cocotal and having them at our mini-private party afterwards ($8.00/person), we also have to get day passes for all of them! So, if I'm understanding her correctly, she wants me to pay $500 for the fee (at least one $500 fee so far), $72.00 for each guest pass (3), and $24.00 for three people at the private party. Ugh!!! I sent her an email to clarify all of this, but I am fuming.....and feel kind of defeated at the same time........

That's pretty much horseshit....I would raise hell about that! What the hell is the $500 fee supposed to cover then?

Hi JWolfe

No way in hell would they get another penny off me on the photography front, ridiculous as it is, just stamp your feet lots, remind them how much business that you have brought to them both with your guests and all the extras you have paid for!! $500 is enough, no more!! Simple as!!

Hope that helps, I know how you feel I totally lost my cool over the price of chairs and paying twice, however I argued and said no more and that seemed to off worked. I hope!

Not long now, other than the irratating points, you must be getting so excited?

xx

Hey-- when we paid the $500 vendor fee (since Cancun Studios offered to pay half of the fee)-- I was assured by Valeria that the $500 would include the 2 photogs being on the resort for the day--since we are having them for 6 hours- they are even taking a hour break, during our dinner and going and eating dinner also-- but I confirmed that with Valeria when we pd the $500 fee-- so Monica is wrong---- now, let me see if I can find that email from Valeria and I'll PM you with it....

That would be great if you could find that for me! As of now, I'm supposed to pay the $500, three day passes, and three extra people for our private reception......any little bit of savings will help! We're also having our photogs there for 6 hours. Thanks!

Yep - other than the haggling, I am getting SO excited! Just got the rest of my OOT items today. Now we just have to make copies of our reception CD for everyone and we're just about finished and ready to go!

Jennifer if you could send me that email about what is covered with photographer fee that would be great. Since I am going with cancun studios also & dealing with Monica. I'm sending her all the info & arrangements today. Just good for a back up.

That is crazy. I think the photography fee is unreal to begin with. They do definitely nickel and dime you there for every thing. I know they pamper you there but for the money & all the guest you bring they should. I wouldn't give them another penny for the photography things. I would put my foot down with that. The $500 should include everything related to the photographers.

I think you want to check with Shannon, not me. She's the one who used Cancun studios and had an email from Valeria saying that everything is included in the $500 fee. Monica is asking me to pay for the $500 fee PLUS three day passes and the per person charge for the private reception (again, for three people). Keep us posted on how your dealings w/ Monica go today. And Shannon - if you have a copy of that email that you wouldn't mind sharing w/ us, that would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!
Jennifer

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
