we're thinking about doing this for part of our OOT bags (since we arent doing favors because its not custom there). my FI was sitting in our kitchen when i came home from work yesterday working on his "perfect mexican playlist" with ALL songs by mexicans. some of them are so funny, but great to dance to. we were dancing in our kitchen before we went out to dinner last night, so i cant wait to dance with everyone at our wedding to these great songs now, because he's giving the DJ a copy of the disc too

We did this and our guests loved it! DH has the playlist, but we had a lot of reggae and vacationey music - Jimmy Buffet, etc - as well as our first dance song and the Hawaiian Somewhere Over the Rainbow (I walked down the aisle to it). Not only did everyone use it in their rooms, but a few told me that after the wedding they were listening to it to try to get back to that vacation feeling.

We also bought aqua and red CD's to use (our colors) and used DH's Light Scribe printer to burn a picture into the CD (instead of using a label).

i love the cd idea!!! i actually did this for my save the dates. we bought cd labels ( i had the plastic label that is part of a kit from years ago, so that saved money ), the colorful, plastic cd sleeves and made up a cute label. All-in-all I spent about $45 for 20 of these. I went to office depot to have them printed because I thought it looked more professional than my home printer. My soon-to-be guests loved them. They tell me that they pop it in the cd player all the time to get them pumped up about Jamaica.

I think I might make another one with caribbean love songs for couples and party songs for the singles. I know giving two cds might seem repetitive, but hopefully not since none of the guests will think to bring their own to Jamaica and I'm sure they will love to have something to listen to while in the room.

Not at all -- it's great !!! I am doing the same thing ... actually, we are giving away TWO CD (we got double sided cd cases). Our taste in music is different since I like french caribbean music and he like english caribeean music but we both like "regular" love songs (RnB, contemporary, etc). CD1 will have my pics (7 of my favorite love songs with 7 caribeean french love songs) and CD2 will have his pics (7 of his favorite love songs with 7 reggae love songs). Like that his side of my family will get introduced to my type of music and my side to his.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
